4 Youth Workers Report Fram Youthie Since September the Youth Club numbers have been low, young people may return once the cold weather is upon us but at the moment they seemed to hanging out at other places.

Support Group This group meets at St Leonards after school. Wednesdays 3-5pm, they is a small group of between 6-8 young people who readily attend and who seem to benefit from this type of session.

Detached Detached Youth workers are not only based in Durham City Centre but also Wharton Park on a Saturday. After meeting with Wharton Park Wardens it was agreed that because some young people were starting to vandalise the park and become a nuisance to local residents it was thought that Youth Workers presence may help the situation by engaging with young people and perhaps offering them support.

DCCYP running costs and sessions Debbie produced a spreadsheet for the Trustees with costs for the charities survival for a year. At present there is a shortfall of £7,787, it was proposed that sessions should be reduced in order for the charity to survive and if funding is sought sessions could be re- introduced. It was agreed by the trustees to let GK,DJ and JB have another meeting to discuss this and to bring it back to the next Management Committee in October

Joint Lottery funding bid with Consett Detached Churches In order to put in a large funding bid that would sustain the charity for a few years, DJ approached Consett Detached Churches to ask if they would like to do this as a joint venture. Jackie Forbes, Project Manager, took the proposal to her Management Committee who were in favour for doing this. DCCYP Trustees agreed also to the funding bid and though it was a good idea involving another Youth Project hoping that resources could be shared and also giving our young people the chance to get to know others in the area who they might not normally mix with.
