Directions: Rewrite the following pairs of sentences using either a semi-colon alone or a semi-colon with a conjunctive adverb.

1. Ice skates did not originate in Holland. Roller skates did.

2. Ice balls will not form if the ground temperature is below freezing. Hail rarely falls in winter.

3. Moths do not eat wool. Moth larvae are the real culprits.

5. The koala bear is a finicky eater. It won’t touch anything but eucalyptus leaves.
