Be able to tell the kingdom, phylum, class, genus, and species for the common earthworm. Know the name and number of earthworm "hearts". Be able to list, in order, the parts of the earthworm's digestive system and to be able to tell the FUNCTION of EACH part. Know the function and location of setae on an earthworm. Be able to give the function for these parts of the reproductive system --- sperm sacs, sperm/seminal receptacles, ovaries, and testes. Be able to explain mating and fertilization in the earthworm. Know the purpose of the cocoon and how it's formed. Be able to explain the term hermaphrodite and apply this to the earthworm. Be able to explain, in detail, how the earthworm breathes. Be able to explain internal (septa) and external (metameres) segmentation in earthworms.
