What to Bring List

Many items on this list would be appropriate for most mission experiences. However, team leaders are encouraged to make changes in order to adapt this list to a specific trip. Team leaders will confirm what clothing is appropriate for a specific trip. For sensitive areas it may be necessary to purchase clothing in the country where the team is serving.

Positive, flexible spirit / Servant’s attitude Personal ID  Passport - good idea to keep two copies of the picture page from your passport in separate locations within your luggage and separate from your actual passport.  Driver’s license and health insurance card for domestic trips  Provide four passport photos when traveling in the Middle East and Asia Travel insurance card Money carrier Church Clothes  Men – dress slacks and shirt with collar  Women - nice skirt and blouse or dress Clothing appropriate for the trip – laundry facilities often not available Good idea to have some long pants & shirts with sleeves Shirts and hats must not advertise alcohol or tobacco If appropriate - Work gloves & work clothes and shoes for the week Jacket / sweatshirt - evenings might be cool Rain gear / poncho Bedding or sleeping bag if needed Two towels and wash clothes Shampoo / soap Shower shoes / flip flops Personal medications (Consider vitamins, allergy tabs, aspirin, Pepto-Bismol, Imodium A-D) Prescriptions need to be in original container Toiletry articles – deodorant, toothbrush & paste, dental floss, contact lens items, razor Personal first aid items such as Band-Aids and antibiotic ointment Insect repellent / lotion Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, bandanas Camera, memory card and extra batteries A small personal flashlight could come in handy Towelette packets / Hand sanitizer Shout wipes could be helpful Baby wipes / Wet Ones very helpful Ladies might want Ponds Clean Sweeps & Baby Powder 1 or 2 rolls of toilet paper – smashed in your luggage / Kleenex packets Water bottle or small bottle of water to keep filled for brushing teeth Bible / Daily devotion materials Zip lock bags might come in handy Spending money Personal snacks Notebook / journal & pens Photos of your family to share with those you are serving

Please leave special jewelry and other valuables at home. Be sure to pack a change of clothes and your medications in your carry on.
