2010 Recruitment Counselor Application

Are you interested in serving as a recruitment counselor (Pi Chi) for Fall 2012 Formal Recruitment? Serving as a Pi Chi can be a rewarding experience for sorority women who want to promote going Greek at College of Charleston. Pi Chis are a vital part of the recruitment process. Please review the Pi Chi responsibilities and tentative time requirements listed below.

If you feel that you can bring your spirit and energy to the recruitment team and can commit to disaffiliating from your chapter for the recruitment process, please complete the application and have the recommendation form filled out by Friday, February 20 th , 2012.

Pi Chis are undergraduate chapter members in good standing who: -Are dependable, responsible, and available to PNMs. -Are enthusiastic and have a positive attitude toward the fraternity experience. -Are objective and impartial in opinions. -Have good listening skills and the ability and willingness to keep confidences. -Are sensitive and perceptive of another’s feelings while remaining objective. -Are representative of the best qualities of a Panhellenic woman.

When you turn your application into the Greek Life Office, be sure to sign up for an interview. Interviews will be held on February 21st (3:00-6:00pm), February 22nd (1:30-7), and February 23rd (3:00-6:00pm). The Greek Life Office is open 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. RECRUITMENT COUNSELOR GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS

FINANCIAL OBLIGATION There will be a fee of $60 for all Pi Chis to cover the cost of your t-shirts, bags, and supplies. This amount is less than what most chapter members would spend on recruitment clothing and will only be put towards items that you will keep.

REQUIRED DATES Every Pi Chi must attend every training session, at least two orientation sessions, Taste of Greek Life, the PNM orientation, and all other recruitment activities. -Pi Chi Training: There will be 3 mandatory spring meetings and fall training session this year. The spring meetings will held on March 13th, March 28th and April 19th. The fall training will be held about four days prior to the first day of recruitment (August 8th). Pi Chis must make arrangements to be in Charleston by August 7, 2011. -Summer Orientation Sessions: These are two days long but you will only be working on the first day of the session (Mondays and Thursdays only). Pi Chis sit at the Panhellenic table on George Street during the student organization fair and promote going Greek to the new students as well as answering any questions about Greek Life that parent(s) or students may have. DISAFFILIATION -You will become disaffiliated after the 2011-2012 school year has ended.
