The Typical Project Day Schedule for MEAP: Time Activities Description 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Check in and attendance Materials that the students need for that day are passed out Safety equipment for the day may be needed and passed out 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Classroom lecture At times a presenter will come and bring in equipment And present information on new technology such as hybrid vehicles. Students take notes and examine equipment such as Electric batteries. Students summarize their observations on the computer OR Hands on project Students work in teams on projects such as building a bridge. Students learn and use software to simulate what the project may have as a result such as analyzing a bridge structure. Students use materials such as glue, rope, wood, and construction paper provided to start a first step of a multistage project 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Lunch (all students have lunch under supervision of MEAP staff) Students may bring lunch or purchase lunch from campus food court Parents will be notified when and if lunch is provided for a session 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Classroom lecture or Hands on project 4:00 to 05:00 p.m. Student work independently on ongoing projects until picked up. Students put away materials, students store project items. Dismissal which includes notes to parents about the next day
The Typical Tour Day Schedule for MEAP: Time Activities Description 8:00 to 09:00 a.m. Check in and attendance Materials that the students need for that day are passed out Safety equipment for the day may be needed and passed out 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Tour Get on the bus, travel to a tour site & check in at company Interact with panel of industry representatives View company sites Get on the bus and travel back to IUPUI 12:00 to 1.00 p.m. Lunch (all students have lunch under supervision of MEAP staff) Students may bring lunch or purchase lunch from campus food court Parents will be notified when and if lunch is provided for a session 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Classroom lecture or Hands on project 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Student work independently on ongoing projects until picked up.
