STANDARD TRUCK COMPANY SAW BLADE AND CHAIN LOOP COMPLEMENT

CHAIN SAW

Three (3) non-carbide chain loops  Description o Standard steel chain for wood cutting.  Use o Trees and limbs. o Back-up ventilation saw. o Miscellaneous uses for plywood and dimensional lumber.

VENT SAW Three (3) carbide chain loops  Description o Carbide chain that’s more durable than standard chain.  Use o Same uses as chain saw. o Overhead garage doors to include light weight clad tin or aluminum. o To ventilate wood decking or sheathing. o Commercial flats roofs where the insulation and rolled roofing needs to be diced and removed. If roof has a layer of rock, anticipate the chain breaking. Have circular saw with Rescue blade available; but if you can get it done with the vent or chain saw it will go much faster.

12” and 14” CIRCULAR SAW One (1) composite abrasive for masonry  Description o Abrasive blade that may be used wet or dry. Can be adversely affected by extended contact with gasoline and oils.  Use o For light duty cutting of masonry or like materials such as concrete, brick, stone or asphalt. o For big jobs make use of Heavy Rescue and the Stanley tool.

Three (3) composite abrasive blades for metals  Description o Abrasive blade for the cutting of ferrous (steel) metals. o Some manufacturers list light non-ferrous (aluminum) metals as well.

1 o Can be adversely affected by extended contact with gasoline or oils.  Use o Chain link fencing, chain or any open web metal that you wouldn’t consider using a blade with teeth that may grab the metal. o Service or overhead doors (sectional, roll-up, sheet curtain or slab) to include associated hardware dead bolts. o Ferrous metal (steel) that may be deemed too thick for the Rescue blade. Rescue blade-light to medium metal vs. composite abrasive- light to heavy steel. o Non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and brass alloy are better suited for the Rescue blade. o These blades can wear down fast.

Two (2) new or serviceable frontline Rescue blades  Description o Specially designed to perform superbly on gasoline powered demolition and rescue saws. o It has 24 teeth and is carbide tipped. It has a fifteen degree negative hook angle which assures safe operation by preventing overfeeding.

 Use o A carbide chip blade for use in a multitude of different applications including roofing, drywall, plastics, sheet metal, tires rail ties and much more. Excellent for fire and rescue work. o The RESCUE BLADE series is a high quality line of carbide tipped blades for cutting most building materials including non-ferrous and

2 light to medium sheet metals. Designed for heavy-duty demolition and for use by fire departments in fire fighting operations. o Sheet metal to include overhead sectional, roll-up, sheet curtain and slab garage doors to include associated hinges and hardware.

o Aluminum door frames in business store fronts to include the dead bolt(s). o Rescue blade-light to medium metal vs. composite abrasive- light to heavy steel.

One (1) used 12” and 14” Rescue blade kept in reserve for training purposes  It has been our experience that a Rescue blade with a couple teeth missing will still serve this purpose.

The above listed uses are just a few examples of the types of materials that each blade or chain loop may be used to cut. Just like in the construction industry, where they use their saws for demolition work, ours are asked to perform much the same function. So choose the right blade and saw, keep the rpms up, let the saw do the work and work safely. The Uni-Cut (Monster) and masonry diamond blade will no longer be purchased and supplied. They will be eliminated by attrition.

The 12” circular saw has a 1” arbor. The 14” saw has a ¾” arbor. Some blades come with a ¾” hole while others have a 1” arbor hole. Some blades are available in both sizes. Depending what your truck is outfitted with determines if you need to use an arbor adaptor. Keep three (3) arbor adaptors in the repair kit.
