DEWEY LYONS

Dewey was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and his family eventually relocated to Newark, New Jersey, where he attended the Newark Public School system.

Dewey and his wife, Deborah, are now retired and live in Plainfield, New Jersey. They have two daughters, and three grandchildren.

Shortly after returning from the U.S. Army military service in Vietnam, Dewey attended Rutgers University. After graduating, he began a 31½-year career with PSE&G. While at PSE&G, Dewey held a number of staff and line management positions. He earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Dewey served on various national committees of the American Gas Association and the Edison Electric Institute. He also served as a Commissioner in his home town of Plainfield. Over his long career with PSE&G, Dewey was the recipient of numerous recognition and achievement awards.

Dewey was one of the charter members of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy, and served as President from 2001 through 2003.

He enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
