Independent Schools Association

ISA’s National Athletics Championships Alexander Stadium, Perry Bar, Birmingham Monday 22nd June 2015 12.30-6pm

Selection:  Competitors must qualify for the National Finals via their Area Athletics meet.  All competitors MUST be pupils from schools who are members of the Independent Schools Association. Any competitor who does not attend a school in membership with ISA will not be able to compete.

Times for the event:  Registration with team Managers: 11.30 – 12.15  Meeting start: 12.30  Meeting end: 18.00

Entry Information:  Teams should be entered online on the National Athletics Google Doc  Full names, DOB’s, Schools and Counties should be entered for EVERY competitor  Failure to include all of this information will result in the competitors results NOT being included on the ‘Power of 10’ website.  Competitors must compete in their correct AGE group and NOT year group.  DOB’s should be taken from the end of the current school year.

Events:  Competitors can compete in any 2 events PLUS a relay.  One competitor per Area for each event except for – 600m, 800m and 1500m where there are two allowed from each Area.  There will be NO guest competitors allowed in ANY of the events.  Points will be awarded on the scale 8 (1st),7 (2nd),6 (3rd),5 (4th),4 (5th),3 (6th),2 (7th),1 (8th) for individual events and relays.

 Field events:  Competitors will be allowed FOUR attempts in field events.

 Track events:  All track events are straight finals.  Starting blocks are NOT permitted in track events.

Dress Code and Numbers:  All competitors MUST compete in their Area colours (vest) with appropriate athletics shorts/bottoms.  Competitors must wear their Area number on both the front and back of the coloured vests secured with pins (unless you have numbered vests).

Officials:  Each Area is asked to provide THREE OFFICIALS: ONE Track Timekeeper, ONE Track Judge, ONE Field official.  These volunteers DO NOT have to be qualified, we just need extra bodies to help with the smooth organisation of the event.  Please ask your Area volunteers to report to Fran Hide on arrival so we ensure all our events are covered with staff.

Team Managers:  All competitors in your team MUST be supervised at all times.  Competitors should sit in the stands when they are not warming up/racing.  Please ensure all litter is cleared away from your Area in the stands on conclusion to the Championships.

Car Parking Charges:  There is now a £3 car parking charge for all cars arriving at the Alexander Stadium on major event days.  Please ensure all parents are informed of this charge.  Cash payments only.
