SUMMER LEAGUE 2014

 Starts week commencing Monday 5th May 2014 and is a 2 a side league style competition based at :- Gloucester Table Tennis Club Robin Greaves Sports Hall Waterwells Gloucester Gloucestershire GL2 2AG  It is the intention to have four divisions this year following the success of the Summer League last year.  Divisions 1 & 2 will play on a Tuesday between 1900hrs- 2130hrs  Divisions 3 & 4 will play on a Friday between 1900hrs- 2130hrs  As a result of feedback divisions will be made of six teams per division base on a first come first served basis. The teams will be placed in the appropriate division at the discretion of the Summer League Committee.  Each player will pay £3 match fee per night.

RULES SUMMER LEAGUE 2014

The team shall consist of a minimum of two players and a maximum of 4 unless there are genuine circumstances that require another player to be registered, however this will be at the discretion of the Summer League committee.

Each player must have an ETTA player number and be a member of GTTC.

A player is not eligible to play without having both of these requirements and they must be in place prior to them commencing their first game in the Summer League.

If a team plays a player who does not meet the above criteria then any points that they win will not count towards the match score.

All games to commence by 1915hrs and be finished by 2130hrs.

Each team is responsible to putting up and putting away the equipment, help will be given to junior players.

Matches will be played on the night stated on the fixture list where possible, any postponed matches need to be played as soon as possible and teams must notify the match secretary when this is necessary.

This league is a two player a side competition. The order of play is:-

1 v 1 2 v 2 1 v 2 2 v 1 Doubles

Points will be awarded on games won. E.g. Home team wins 5-0; home team is awarded 5 points and away team aware 0 points etc.

The home team captain is responsible for handing in the scorecard to a GTTC official/match secretary. It must be signed by each team captain. Please ensure that the scores are legible and correct.

The ball used must be ETTA licensed. The home team is responsible for providing the balls. GTTC is not responsible for providing balls; arrangements can be made to purchase balls at the club if required.

The colour of the shirt worn during play must be different to the colour of the ball.

In the event of a tie at the close of the season, the team with the best wins or draws will be awarded the highest position. If this is not conclusive a play-off will be ordered by the committee. A full match will be completed and the winner of this match will be declared the winner of the division.
