WORLD TRADE CENTER MEMORIAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEW DEVELOPMENT CHIEF Addie Guttag Brings 30 Years of Management, Marketing and Development Experience to Foundation’s $500 Million Fundraising Effort
World Trade Center Memorial Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Gretchen Dykstra today announced the appointment of Addie Guttag as Senior Vice President of Development.
“Our first priority is to raise funds to construct a memorial to honor those who died, those who helped, and those who cared,” Foundation President Gretchen Dykstra said. “Addie Guttag will lead our development efforts and make sure that we achieve our ambitious goal of raising $500 million. Addie brings with her a wealth of development experience which will prove invaluable to our efforts. I look forward to working with Addie to build a memorial that will forever honor the lives lost and the humanity which overcame terror.”
As Senior Vice President of Development, Ms. Guttag will oversee the Foundation’s efforts to raise $500 million. She will spearhead national and international fundraising efforts, working with individual donors and corporations.
“It is a privilege to help build the memorial which will remember the thousands of lives lost during these horrific attacks,” Ms. Guttag said. “The magnitude of this loss touched people worldwide. I am honored to work with supporters from all over America, and across the globe, to realize our goal.”
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Guttag was a management, marketing and development consultant. Her clients included the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Doctors Without Borders, and the Gill Foundation.
Ms. Guttag has also served as the Vice President of Development for the Museum of Television and Radio, the Managing Director of Development for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, and the Director of Major Gifts for the United Jewish Appeal – Federation of Jewish Philanthropies. In addition to her development experience, Ms. Guttag has extensive political consulting experience and served as Chief of Staff to Geraldine Ferraro. Ms. Guttag is the Secretary of the Board for the 92nd Street YM-YWHA. She is a graduate of Syracuse University.
The World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation established to honor the innocent men, women and children murdered in the horrific terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 through the creation of a permanent memorial, “Reflecting Absence,” at the World Trade Center site. The Foundation is committed to raising funds and constructing the Memorial and the Memorial Museum, which will be dedicated to telling the story of the events of February 26th, 1993 and September 11 th, 2001, and honoring and remembering the lives lost as well as those involved in the response and recovery.
