USPSA Announces World Shoot XV Line-Up

Sedro-Woolley, WA — The United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) announced the official teams that will be representing the United States at the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Shoot XV to be held in Bali, Indonesia, October 19 through November 2, 2008.

The United States will have a four person team competing in each of three divisions and two categories: Open, Standard, Production, Ladies (Open) and Juniors (Open). In addition to the 20 members of the official US team, there will be up to 40 shooters competing independently under the USA banner.

“The United States teams have never lacked for talent and the official 2008 squad is no exception. Considering the number of national and world titles held by these shooters, I expect another strong performance,” said USPSA President, Michael Voigt.

Representing the United States in the Open division will be Chris Tilley of Apex, NC, BJ Norris of Tyler, TX, and US Army Marksmanship Unit teammates Max Michel, Jr. of Phenix City, AL, and KC Eusebio of Diamond Bar, CA.

The Standard division team will be made up of Taran Butler of Simi Valley, CA, Emanual Bragg of Kirksville, MO, Shannon Smith of Tampa, FL, and the US Army Marksmanship Unit’s Travis Tomasie of Seattle, WA.

Competing in the Production division for the USA will be Robert Vogel of Wapakoneta, OH, Matthew Mink of Saltillo, AR, Angus Hobdell of Tempe, AZ, and David Olhasso of Holland, PA.

The official Ladies team competing in the Open Division for the US will be made up of veteran pistol champions Athena Lee of Houston, TX, Kay Miculek of Princeton, LA, Lisa Munson of Marysville, WA, and Eva Beecroft of Desert Hills, AZ.

Rounding out the official US line-up will be Shane Coley of Leland, MS, Forrest McCord of Houston, TX, James McGinty of Tabernacle, NJ, and Mark Matthews of North Miami, FL, who will be competing in the Juniors category of the Open Division.

more The IPSC World Shoot is held every three years. In 2005 Guayaquil, Ecuador, hosted the match with 888 shooters representing 56 nations. The US contingent, which totaled 105 shooters, accounted for nearly 12% of the total field and captured the Open team title, Open Junior team title, Standard team title as well as a number of individual medals. USPSA members also brought home the Revolver title, the Ladies Standard title and individual High Overall in the Standard Division.
