Discussion

In the TGac specification framework, R3.1.E states that the draft specification shall include support for an efficient channelization in China’s (5,725 ~ 5,850 MHz) spectrum. But, the current specification version doesn't include the related statements. Therefore, the specification shall support the above requirement.

Since the current 5 GHz spectrum of China is still 5,725 ~ 5,850 MHz, and recently there is no plan to release new specturm, it is very necessary to keep such an opportunity that the 802.11ac specification can be modified to meet the requirement of China.

Proposed text

22.3.15 Channelization

A VHT STA may operate in the 5 GHz band.

This amendment shall include support for an efficient channelization in China ’ s (5,725 ~ 5,850 MHz) spectrum, and the specific channelization solution is TBD.

A VHT channel is specified by the four PLME MIB fields specified in Table 22-18 (Fields to specify VHT channels).
