1. In the start menu click on Control Panel.

2. Click on Network Connections

3. Right click on the local Area con- nections and se- lect properties.

4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and the click the Properties button.

5. Notice that the IP address is ob- tained from the DHCP server automatically. This completes the task.

Testing TCP/IP Communications 3.5 1. In the windows menu click Command Prompt.

2. Type in Ipconflg /all and press enter.

3. The computers information will appear.

1. Go back to the command line and type Ping and your computer name then press enter. If you typed the correct IP address and computer name it should display that four packets were sent and they all made the round trip.
