January 25th, 2017 6:00 p.m.

The regular meeting of the Pingree-Buchanan School Board met with Brett McIlonie, Trisha Jungels, Steve Homes, Jeremy Sorenson, Joe Uehran and Marvin Allen. Supt. Harrington, Terrie Neys, Amber Krapp and Janice Mack were also in attendance. President Brett McIlonie called the meeting to order. Motion by Steve Homes to approve the agenda, Joe Uehran seconds, with all in favor.

Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed by the board. Marv Allen moved to approve, Jeremy Sorenson seconds, motion carried.

Communications:

Terrie Neys report: Star Reading & Math assessments; staff will discuss findings of the AdvancEd team; Stutsman County Spelling Bee, Feb. 15th; Ag in the Classroom at the Civic Center; Miss ND presentation; Energy Education program for grades 3-6 on March 7th; archery; snow removal at the elementary; bus subs; elementary teaching position; suburban update.

Superintendent Harrington reported: storm day’s make-up; leaking gym roof; spring calendar; AdvancEd update; sidewalk in front of the new building; fire hall purchase; transportation.

Pres. Brett McIlonie reported on the co-op meeting. Basketball participation, Gackle-Streeter would like to join our track and baseball co-op.

Jeremy Sorenson moved to approve the monthly bills and financial statements. Marv Allen seconds the motion, with all in favor.

Old Business:

Board scheduled dates for the Vo-Ed and Smart Lab meetings

New Business:

Motion by Steve Homes to approve the five Open Enrollment forms from Jamestown School Dist. to the Pingree-Buchanan School Dist. for the 17-18 school year. Joe Uehran seconds, with all in favor.

Trisha Jungels moved to approve the Pledge of Assets provided by Unison Bank of Jamestown, ND. Jeremey Sorenson seconds, motion carried. Jeremy Sorenson moved to have rep’s from the YHR come in and assess the school property. Joe Uehran seconds, motion carried.

Marv Allen moved to accept the Intent to Negotiate as presented by the Teachers Association, Trisha Jungels seconds, with all in favor.

Next meeting will be Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

Steve Homes moved to adjourn at 6:55 p.m., Jeremy Sorenson seconds, motion carried.
