2014 Learning Galleria Hosted by ECE Technical College and Undergraduate Degree Students Saturday, September 27, 2014 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Georgia Association on Young Children (GAYC) Annual Conference Deadline for Submission: September 1, 2014 The Gwinnett Center Do you have students who have great presentations that need to be shared with early care and learning professionals? Has a student group presented a power point presentation that had great information to be shared with others? Submit it to the GAYC conference as a poster presentation in our Learning Galleria!
College students can benefit by sharing their knowledge with the individuals in early care and learning and add a state level poster session to their resume. The lead poster presenter will be granted complimentary conference registration on Saturday if present by the poster in the Exhibit Hall from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. College faculty members can benefit by mentoring their students to participate in professional development as a contributor, share research and/or important/current information from the field. The 1,500 - 2,000 Conference participants on Saturday will learn more about working with young children, their families and early learning environments from viewing research and informational posters developed by technical college and undergraduate students in Georgia colleges and universities. The Exhibit Hall will also be open to parents in addition to conference attendees on Saturday.
Approximately 20 student posters will be accepted. A fun poster review will be completed by the conference attendees and the poster chosen as having the best overall score for appearance and useful content will receive a prize. Poster Criteria: Posters should include: 1. Title/Topic 2. Presenter(s) name
3. The Student’s name who will receive complimentary conference registration to attend Saturday sessions (one student allowed per poster)
4. Faculty Sponsor (if applicable)
5. Institutional Affiliation
6. Abstract/Summary
7. Important Information about the Topic
8. Findings/Results
9. Recommendations for Early Childhood Professionals (A handout [50 copies] may also be provided)
10. List of References
Posters should be displayed on a 36’’ X 48” trifold display board Poster font and lettering should be at least 16 font size. Information on the poster should be concise, easy to read, and applicable to the early care and learning field. Graphs, pictures, charts, and tables are always helpful and make the poster interesting to others. Posters will be viewed on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 11:00am - 3:00pm in the Gwinnett Center Exhibit Hall and need to be on display by 10:30am. Tables will be available in the Exhibit Hall beginning at 7:00am.The student does not need to be present, although that would be a plus! If present, hours are 11:30am-1:30pm to allow student attendance at all Saturday presentations. Students or their instructors are responsible for transporting the posters to and from the site, set–up and take down. GAYC cannot be responsible for posters that are not picked up.
