For over 30 years, 97.9 The Loop has brought the best of rock and entertainment to Chicago, including a few worthy women to represent its Rock & Roll heritage. Better known as The Loop Rock Girl, over the last 6 years she has become more than a face for the radio station; she is an iconic part of Chicago’s Classic Rock Station. The 2011 Loop Rock Girl will receive a contract worth over $75,000, be heard live on The Loop, interview celebrities, appear in her own 12-month calendar and much more!

Ladies who are interested in becoming the next Loop Rock Girl can apply online at WLUP.com beginning Monday, February 21st. Any Chicagoland women 21 and over (as of April 4th) can apply online by submitting a few pictures and profile. Loop representatives will select 30 women from all of the online applications and Loop listeners will then have the chance to vote their favorite Loop Rock Girl hopefuls to the next round of the competition!

In 2010, The Loop crowned Lindsey Schendel of Chicago as its sixth Loop Rock Girl. Lindsey is available for interviews upon request.
