1.0 Purpose
1.1 This procedure defines the necessary labeling requirements for supplier shipments to Access Business Group or Amway facilities.
2.0 Scope
2.1 This procedure refers to all suppliers of raw materials, components and finished goods to Access Business Group or Amway.

4.1 Overview
The method for identifying shipping containers is determined by the Supplier. Labels or ink jet are preferred, but stencils are also permissible provided the information is legible and durable. Hand lettering is not allowed. In general, labels should have a light background and a minimum letter height of ½”. Labels should be in English, unless otherwise specified.
4.2 Labeling Requirements
ABG Part number/SKU- Complete and accurate ABG SKU as indicated on the purchase order line.
ABG Description- A brief description of the contents as indicated on the purchase order (if no description is included, a trade or generic name is acceptable if approved by ABG procurement).
Date packed/shipped- Month/day/year on which material is packed or otherwise prepared for shipment. Supplier lot/batch number can be substituted for date.
Purchase Order Number and Line Number(s)- The complete purchase order number and line number(s). (Example: 123456OP, Line (#’s)
Manufacturer’s name and Country of Origin- Must appear on each container. If manufacturer and supplier are different, supplier’s name and Country of Origin shall also appear.
Lot Number- Lot/batch number traceability is required. When materials are shipped on pallets, each pallet should contain one and only one, production lot number. If multiple production lots must be shipped on one pallet, all lot numbers and quantity per pallet must be clearly identified on two adjacent sides of the pallet.
Access Manufacturing Code (AMC) - If requested by ABG.
Hazard Code - If applicable; include the 3 position hazard/handling prefix.
Unit Artwork Number- If applicable.

4.3 Master Shippers
When shipping case is too small for pallet handling and storage, master shippers are to be used.
Each master shipper must be marked with ABG part number/SKU, description. the Access Manufacturing Code (AMC) and the ABG purchase order number and associated line number (s).
Each shipping container must have the total quantity within, indicating cases and/or each follows:
If Unit of Measure is Case, mark as follows: o xCS (1 CS=yEA) where x= number of cases in a master shipper/single case and where Y= number of each in a case. o Examples: . 1CS (1CS=6EA) - 6 each packed in a single case. . 4CS (1CS=6EA)- 24 each packed in 6 to a case, 4 cases in a master shipper
If Unit of Measure is Each, mark as follows: o xEA where X=number of each in case or master shipper o Example: . 12EA- 12 each packed in a single case or master shipper. Refer to the purchase order for the correct Unit of Measure.
Purchase Order Number and associated Line Number(s)
4.4 Other lot/batch numbers
. The supplier’s lot/batch numbers are not to be mixed within a case or master shipper, except for variety packs.
. For variety packs, the lot number on the case and/or the master shipper must match the supplier’s oldest manufactured date on any of the product within the variety pack.
. A traceable supplier lot/batch number must appear on each consumable package. Suppliers may use the 8-digit AMC to replace their lot/batch number.
. Only one part number/SKU to a pallet is allowable. Mixed lots on a pallet are acceptable if clearly marked and identified. Please record the part number/SKU, lot, and the quantities of each lot accurately. This information must then be placed on the front of the pallet under the stretch-wrap, or securely attached. The ABG purchase order number(s) and line number(s) must also be indicated.
4.5 Net Weight Statement Requirements
. Food and drug products must conform to U.S. Federal and/or International regulations covering the unit of measure labeling.
. A net weight statement must be present on selling unit and shipping container, if one and the same.
4.6 Advertising/Trade Names
. Advertising, trade names or any other non-required printing on cases and master shippers is unacceptable unless approved by ABG Procurement. 4.7 Note: All Shipping Labels (ref. examples below) must include the ABG Purchase Order Number and Line Numbers.
