YVONNE E. 12 BELTON CAMPBELL UPON THE OCCASION OF HER 13 SELECTION AS A 2016 LITTLE BLACK DRESS LUNCHEON 14 HONOREE AND TO HONOR HER FOR HER MANY YEARS 15 OF SERVICE AS AN EDUCATOR AND HER MANY 16 CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ANNA BOYD SCHOOL AND THE 17 STATE PARK COMMUNITY. 18 19 Whereas, Ms. Yvonne E. Belton Campbell is the sixth out of eight 20 children born to Mr. and Mrs. George and Gertrude (Belton) 21 Kennedy. She was educated in Montieth and Booker T. 22 Washington Heights Elementary School, CA Johnson High 23 School, and Benedict College, where she received a degree in 24 home economics in 1959. Ms. Campbell furthered her study at the 25 University of Oklahoma and Florida A&M University; and 26 27 Whereas, after graduation, Ms. Campbell began her career as a 28 teacher in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, at Bryson High School. 29 She later moved to Moore Haven, Florida and taught at Booker T. 30 Washington High School. Later, she became a home 31 demonstration agent for Clemson University and South Carolina 32 State University. She finished her career working for the federal 33 government as a county supervisor for the Farmers Home 34 Administration. She retired on November 30, 1996 after a more 35 than thirty-three year career; and 36 37 Whereas, Ms. Campbell is very family-oriented. She is devoted to 38 God and her only child, George Campbell of Atlanta, GA, and her 39 grandchildren George Taylor Campbell, Grant Henry and Kennedy 40 Yvonne Campbell. She enjoys visiting her son and grandchildren 41 and is also loved greatly in her State Park community; and 42
[1085] 2 1 Whereas, Ms. Campbell enjoys traveling, reading, sewing, 2 working with children and the elderly, and working with the Anna 3 Boyd School in Richland School District II. She enjoys planning 4 the community picnic each year and assisting with plans for the 5 Founders Day Program at Anna Boyd School; and 6 7 Whereas, Ms. Campbell attends Zion Canaan Baptist Church 8 where she has been a member since 1950. She is a member of the 9 Senior Bible Study class, the Missionary Ministry, and the Senior 10 Sunday School class; and 11 12 Whereas, the members of the Senate are grateful for the years of 13 service that Ms. Campbell has given to the members of her 14 community and wish her much success and happiness as she 15 continues with these endeavors. Now, therefore, 16 17 Be it resolved by the Senate: 18 19 That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and 20 congratulate Ms. Yvonne E. Belton Campbell upon the occasion of 21 her selection as a 2016 Little Black Dress Luncheon honoree and 22 honor her for her many years of service as an educator and her 23 many contributions to the Anna Boyd School and the State Park 24 Community. 25 26 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 27 Ms. Yvonne E.
