Purdue Collegiate 4-H Club Meeting Minutes
Tyler promptly began the meeting at 7:05 and the pledges were led by two of our members.
Officer reports were given including:
Secretary report: read by Alli harris
Treasurer’s report: Malorie Wood shared that the club currently has $6074.50 in its account.
Ag Council:
Discussion on the medical amnesty bill possibly being made into a law, the College of Agriculture Hog Roast ( which they are asking for donations) Block and Bridal events including the royal show this Friday. More discussion was made based upon the point system that Ag Council implements between all of the College of Agriculture option clubs.
It was properly moved by Ashley that we donate $30 dollars to the College of Agriculture Hog Roast and it was seconded by Sam Spoleder. The motion passed by majority vote.
Service:
Emily discussed how the Murdock Focus program is going. Our 4-Her’s work with about 15-20 3rd and 4th graders and it is going well. If there is anyone interested in volunteering please talk to/email Emily. Those who are new doing this need to fill out a volunteer form.
Intramurals:
John Kuhn gave us an update about our sports teams. The Volleyball team played its first tournament game last night and lost, but there is a football game after the meeting so please come to play or CHEER! If you want to do any specific intramurals after this season talk to John Kuhn.
Boo at the Zoo dates are October 19th, 20th, and 21st, 5-8 p.m. or 7-10p.m. Sign-up sheets were passed around for volunteers.
The club shirts were displayed on the tables. They were going to be ordered a few days after the meeting. A design for the stretchy jersey is coming soon. It’ll be black, green, and white with Collegiate 4-H on the front.
For the Foundation Football game on October 8th at 9 a.m., John Kuhn, Kayla , and Ross will be present to help.
The Thank-a-Thon is on November 17th during a non-regular meeting week. Everyone is to meet in AGAD. There will be a sheet to follow for guide dance and there will be food. Holly moved that we have the foundation buy us Moe’s for the Thank-a-Thon. Kayla Wirthwein seconded it. Motion passed. September 29, 2011
Regional Conference is on November 4-6th at Kansas State University. Registration is going to be $90 and is due on October 17th. The late registration deadline is October 24th at a fee of $110. The theme is related to the Wizard of Oz. Nationals will be held in Reno, Nevada.
There is only one officer training scheduled, which is in White Co.
Exploration Acres was to be held on Friday September 30th. Holly moved to change the date to October 14th. John Kuhn seconded. Holly amended that Exploration Acres be held on both days. Alli Harris seconded the amendment. Motion passed. People are to meet behind Lilly at 5:30 p.m.
Mallory Wood and Alli Harris gave a demonstration on how to teach the program Money Talks. The club decided to get the word out about the program, and then maybe put into action next fall. The discussion was tabled to the next meeting.
