Four Day Classical Tour

Day 1: You will board a tour bus and travel by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal, where you will make a short stop. Next, you will visit Epidavros and its timeless theater famous for its remarkable acoustics. You will continue to the town of Nafplion, a very beautiful and historic place from classic to modern times. You will depart for Olympia through Central Pelloponesse passing through the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. You will spend the night in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games.

Day 2: After breakfast, visit the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the ancient olympic stadium and the museum. Then drive on through the plains of Elia and Achaia to the magnificent bridge which connects the corinthian bay of Rion to Antirion. Later, you will travel by the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos and Itea to arrive in Delphi for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: You will explore Delphi, where the famous oracle of antiquity predicted the future of nations and individuals, the Sanctuary of Apollo and the local museum. Travel through the mountains of Central Greece to the town of Kalambaka for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: You will visit Meteora, where ageless monasteries perch on the summit of huge rocks where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. For your return trip to Athens, you will travel through Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae where Leonidas, King of Sparta, defeated the mighty Persian army. In the early evening, you will return to your hotel in Athens to spend the night.

Cretan Excursion

Day 1: You will transfer from your hotel to the airport for your departure flight to Crete. Upon arrival in Heraklion, Crete you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel by a Kinisis Travel representative. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: You will explore the site of the ancient Minoan city of Knossos. A guided tour of the unique Palace of Knossos, built in 2000 B.C, excavated and in part restored by Sir Arthur Evans. At Knossos, center of the great Minoan Civilization, visit the Royal Palace of King Minos, the mythical labyrinth associated with Ariadne and the Minotaur (sacred bull), and witness the abundant evidence of how its people lived and worked. By discovering the site not too long ago, archaeologists found the first of all advanced civilization in Europe. The tour to the Minoan excavation sites is followed by a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, where you can see the treasures from Knossos, Phaestos, Zakros and wall paintings from many excavations of Crete. The largest and most remarkable collections range from Neolithic to Roman times. You will have time for lunch and shopping.

Day 3: Spend the day at your leisure. In the evening you will have the chance to enjoy an evening in Cretan and Greek style in a small typical village. You will be collected early in the evening, where the coach takes you out of the city. Arriving at the taverna you will find yourself in a setting of beautiful plane trees and have the opportunity to taste traditional Cretan specialties and copious amounts of Cretan wine or soft drinks. Everything is accompanied by superb dancing displays and traditional Cretan music played by local musicians on both the lira (a local Cretan instrument) as well as the bouzouki. The dancers are dressed in traditional costumes and give a fascinating performance. Later on you will have the chance to join in the dancing and try the Syrtaki dance, the famous Greek dance from the film "Zorbas the Greek".

Day 4: After breakfast you will transfer to the airport for your departure flight home.

The Island of Rhodes

Day 1: After breakfast you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Rhodes. Upon your arrival in Rhodes a Kinisis Travel representative will greet and transfer you to your hotel. The remaining of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: You will explore Lindos, one of the three ancient cities of the island. The white washed houses and the narrow streets of the village are an enchanting sight, as are the Byzantine church of St. John and the famous classic Temple of Athema Lindia. On the return you will stop at the Village of Archangelos to view the ancient art of ceramic pottery.

Day 3: The day is at your leisure. In the evening you will have a chance to visit Rhodes Old City. Take a walk along Socrates Street, stop and browse in all the shops, and venture off into the small cobbled side streets to see how the locals live within the walls of this Medieval City. Then enjoy some of the best restaurants on the island and have a drink in one of the many cafes.

Day 4: After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your departure flight home.
