(Registration & Breakfast 8:15 am) Review of national trends in long term care litigation and explores an enterprise risk management model and risk reduction activities related the long term care setting. The long term care sector of the health care industry remains vulnerable to unfavorable liability experience. This liability experience creates legal, clinical, operational and financial challenges that will be explored during the program. A case study will be presented.

Speakers: Joyce H. Benton, RN, MSA, ARM, Risk Control Consulting Director, CNA HealthPro and Mr. Michael S. Komoll, JD National Litigation Counsel, Law Department Ms. Benton is a frequent speaker on healthcare risk management at the local, state and national level and has authored several articles. Mr. Komoll, Direct Claims and Litigation Practices for HealthPro’s Excess Institutions Insurance Program.
