Our Schedule Looks a Little Like This

Hello,

My name is Robyn Holland and I am your child’s first grade teacher this year. I am so thrilled and ready for a successful year! I am an Elkhart graduate and have been teaching for 13 years. I have been married for 13 years and have 3 little girls ( Laynee-12, Londyn 10 and Layken-7). Life at home is wild and full of drama! 

For the most part I am a very laid back, easy going teacher. However, I am structured and like routine. I have high expectations for all my students academically and behaviorally. I do expect them to follow the rules. I am not sending a behavior calendar home this year because I normally do not have many problems. There is notebook paper in the binder for communication purposes! Please do not let your child use the paper to write on or practice spelling words on. I will use the paper to let you know if I have any problems or concerns or to send you a happy note about child! Please write on the paper if you have any questions, concerns or maybe a change in transportation for that day. This will be our communication back and forth with each other! Please, check it daily! My conference time is – Mon.,Tues., and Wed. at 8:55-9:40, Thurs. 12:55-1:40, and Fri. at 1:45-2:30 . I will be more than happy to talk to you during this time.

Our schedule looks a little like this:

10:55-11:25- Lunch

12:30-12:45(M) 2:15-2:30 (T,Th) 2:30-2:45 (W, Fri) - Recess

8:55-9:40- PE (M,Tue, Wed) 1:45-2:30- Music ( Fri) 12:55-1:40- Art (Th)

12:55-1:40-Library (M) 12:55-1:40- Computer/Guidance ( Fri)

School starts at 7:55 and ends at 3:20. Students may come inside the building at 7:30, if you drop your child off before 7:30 they must go to the cafeteria. Even if they do not eat breakfast, they still must go to the cafeteria and wait until 7:30. Children will come to the classroom the first two days of school. Then, after that they will go straight to the gym. Thanks! We will have snack during our recess time every day! You may send your child an extra snack in their lunch kit or backpack daily.

I will send home a Monday message every Monday in your child’s binder. This will have their spelling words, reading and any upcoming news! Please check your child’s binder every day! Math homework is due on Friday! They will not have any homework this week.

I will send a Monday message home next week with more news! If you have any questions please write me a note, email, or call me! I will be more than happy to help you anyway I can! I am so excited about his year and can’t wait to get to know and teach your child.
