ELKHART, Ind. – Barry Cole (Manufactured Housing Insurance Services), chairman of the RV/MH Hall of Fame (Hall), reports that an exciting new feature has been added to the agenda for the Class of 2014 Induction Dinner day activities on Monday, August 4. 2014.

The new feature is a seminar, designed to help RV and manufactured housing industry pioneers and others, on how to write more effective biographies or their corporate/business stories.

The 2 ½-hour seminar, entitled “Write Your RV/MH Story!” is scheduled to begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. at the Hall of Fame facility in Elkhart, Indiana.

The instructors for the seminar are two of the most prolific authors in the RV and MH industries:

George Allen, one of the presenters, said, "The thought behind all this is to encourage RV & MH industry pioneers, businessmen and women, to record their personal and corporate stories and histories, with an eye to sharing with friends, family, employees, or even the RV/MH library at the Hall.

The first hour will be devoted to how to write one's memoir or autobiography, as a legacy exercise, to preserve a person's personal, even corporate career in the RV or MH business.

The second hour will cover how to write a corporate story or history, preserving a company's legacy, on one hand; and/or using same, as a marketing tool when educating prospective clients about his or her RV or MH products and services.

Al Hesselbart said, “In the past few years we have lost some of our industries’ most important pioneers, and unfortunately, they had never written down their stories, so those stories are lost forever. We hope this seminar will both encourage people to write their histories and inspire them sit down and start putting their stories on paper.

“We also hope they will consider using the RV/MH library as a repository for their stories.”

Cole said, “The induction day activities begin at 7 a.m. with the annual RV/MH Hall of Fame Golf Classic at Bent Oak Golf Club in Elkhart, followed that evening by the Induction Dinner at the Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail party.

“During the day, all the features of the Hall will be open to those who registered for the induction dinner, including the museum, hall of fame and library.

“We believed that since many of those who plan to attend will not be playing in the morning’s golf event, we wanted to offer them an alternative activity – and that’s why we decided to add this helpful seminar to the schedule of events.”

The cost for the seminar is only $44.95 per person; however, if the attendee is also signed up for the Induction Dinner, the cost will be reduced to only $29.95.

Allen added, “The seminar is well worth the cost and the handouts alone are worth the price.”
