TOPIC: KINDNESS MATTERS A wise person once said, “After all this is over, all that will have really mattered is how we treated one another. “ This week’s Kindness Challenge is to do a household chore – especially one you aren’t asked to do. Taking some of the daily work load off another person will allow them to be more relaxed and happy.

TOPIC: BASEBALL TOY DRIVE Please join East View Patriot Baseball as we celebrate the spirit of giving this holiday season. During the months of November and December, East View Patriot Baseball players and coaches will be collecting toys to be donated to the children of the Boys and Girls Club of Georgetown. To donate, please give your new, unwrapped toy to any East View baseball player or deliver them to Coach Pullen’s office.

TOPIC: PICTURE RETAKE DAY Picture retakes will be taken in the Cafeteria during all lunches tomorrow, Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Please pick up an order form at the diamond. This is pre-pay only! Anyone who wants to purchase a picture package needs to bring a completed form plus payment (or online payment receipt) to the photographer on that day.

TOPIC: DELIVERY OF CLASS RINGS ATTENTION JUNIORS! Class rings will be delivered on Wednesday, Dec 10th across from the cafeteria 12:00 to 2:00. You must have your balance due in order to pick up your ring. Any junior or Senior who has not ordered their ring may do so at time stated above.

TOPIC: GIVING TREE Starting December 1st through Friday, the 12th, you will be able to grab a bag off the giving tree, located near the front office, fill it up with goodies that your middle and high school peers would like, and return it to room 207 or room 408 to help someone's Christmas be a little brighter.

TOPIC: BLUE SANTA Attention Students! Student Council is sponsoring a Blue Santa Toy Drive here at East View, December 1st through 12th. Drop your new toys off in the box near the front office.

TOPIC: CLASS OF 2018 FUNDRAISER What would you do with an EXTRA 15 minutes of lunch time? Maybe enjoy a dessert after your lunch? Take a bathroom break? Visit with your friends just a little longer? Well, on Thursday, December 11th, you will have that chance! Support the Class of 2018 by buying a ticket for a 15-minute longer lunch! Tickets are $3 and are only sold through English teachers! See your English teacher or Mrs. Searight in Room 203 if you have questions! Buy your ticket TODAY!

TOPIC: EAST VIEW PATRIOT BAND WINTER CONCERT Come enjoy an evening full of your favorite holiday classics performed by the East View Symphonic Winds, Percussion Ensembles, and Wind Ensemble. The concert begins at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10th at the Klett Performing Arts Center. The performance is free of charge.

TOPIC: FFA WINTER SOCIAL Tues Dec 9th after school; there will be food, drink, archery, prizes and tons more!!! Please come and be involved with your chapter! We will be taking our group photo so wear your FFA shirt and come right after school!!! IT WILL BE AWESOME!!!

TOPIC: CAFETERIA MEALS Reminder - students and staff will not be allowed to charge meals through the remainder of this semester. Please make sure all accounts are paid in full by December 16, 2014. Thank you!

TOPIC: HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTS Health Science students who are interested in the Practicum 1/Certified nursing assistant class and will be a junior or senior next school year will need to attend an informational meeting in room 338. Pick from the following dates and time: Dec. 11 @ 8:00am or 4:00pm; Dec 12 @ 4:00pm. Any questions - Please see Mrs. Prewit in Rm. 338, or Mrs. Killen in Rm. 321. TOPIC: PROJECT GRADUATION Graduation is right around the corner; help us make your Project Graduation a success. We need students and parents to sign up for our Wal-Mart gift wrapping on the weekends, starting this weekend until the weekend before Christmas, to help fundraise for your event. For every two hours you and/or your parents volunteer we will add more casino money to your account to be used at Project Graduation. Please see Ms. Martinka at the Diamond to sign up. TOPIC: BASKETBALL BABES Interested in showing your school spirit & support for the East View Boys’ basketball team? Become a Basketball Babe! We will be having an information meeting WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 10th at 4pm in Room 414! Please be there! If you have a conflict or questions feel free to talk to President Javie Floyd or Sponsor Ms. Piland in Room 414. Look forward to seeing you Wednesday at 4pm!

TOPIC: DRIVERS ED The next class for driver ed will start on Jan 10th AM and PM class will be available to sign up contact Mr. Swain at GHS by phone 5129435100 ext7064 or by email [email protected]. Please indicate which time you want to take the class and which high school you attend.

TOPIC: MUSIC STUDY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP The Georgetown Music Study Club Scholarship application is now available in the Counselors office for any senior planning to study music in college. The deadline is January 31, 2015. An EVHS student received the scholarship last year.

TOPIC: LIONS YOUTH CONTEST The Georgetown Noon Lions Youth Contest applications are due now. Please turn them in to Mrs. Lewis before noon on Friday December 12.

TOPIC: PROJECT TOMORROW SPEAK UP SURVEY The Project Tomorrow Speak Up Survey (http://www.speakup4schools.org/speakup2014/) is national online research project that allows students, teachers, school leaders, parents, and the community the opportunity to share their viewpoints about key educational issues, particularly concerning 21st century education and technology. Findings are summarized and shared with national and state policy makers, and Georgetown ISD reviews our district’s data. Georgetown ISD has participated in the Speak Up Survey for a number of years, and the feedback provided by our stakeholders can be very helpful in planning! The survey is open through Friday, December 19, 2014. It takes about 10-15 minutes. We hope EVHS parents and students will consider completing the survey!
