Wganc Rules Committee Application

WGANC RULES COMMITTEE

Purpose of the WGANC Rules Committee:  To officiate at WGANC tournaments and prepare course conditions for those tournaments  To present Rules Seminars at various area and regional locations as required  To assist Rules Director/Assistant Rules Director in preparing and/or reviewing Rules questions and answers from WGANC members

Eligibility Requirements:  Must be a current member of WGANC  Must be a WGANC member who has interest in and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the rules  Approval to become a member of the WGANC Rules Committee will be by a vote of the Board of Directors

Duties of a WGANC Rules Official:  Take and pass the Rules Test  Each Rules Official must spend a minimum of ten days officiating at WGANC tournaments, attending WGANC meetings, or other WGANC sponsored rules events  May be required to conduct or assist in Rules Seminars upon request of individual clubs or as assigned by the Rules Coordinator  All Rules Committee members must attend the following:  The annual Rules Committee meeting in January  An NCGA Rules Seminar each year

Personal Qualifications of a WGANC Rules Official:  Must be able to communicate and deliver information in a non- confrontational manner  Explain correct procedures in a friendly manner  Have the knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Golf and Decisions Book when helping to determine a ruling
