Sarah Melton, PharmD program, including lay administration of naloxone, protection from civil liability, and the safe reporting of overdoses law.  Discuss how opioid overdose emergencies happen and how to recognize them.  Describe the mechanism of action of naloxone.  Identify risk factors that may make someone more susceptible to an opioid overdose emergency.  Respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of naloxone. 9:45 AM – 10:45 AM Disciplinary Actions from State  Discuss the reporting Regulatory Boards requirements for licensees Hughes Melton, MD who suspect their colleagues may be improperly prescribing.  Describe licensing boards' required approaches to pain management.  Explain how to update internal office policies and protocols to avoid disciplinary hearings.
