Maximum contests (22) and tournament limitations (4 total) . Official Eligibility rosters due by February 3 (Section Office) from AD via CIF Home . Tournament Paperwork – Host schools must submit sanction request to Section Office . Gold Book (Ch. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, Sport Chapter, New Rules, Appendix) . Coaching Requirements- (Rule 126) First Aid/CPR, Concussion Training, Coaching Education, Sudden Cardiac Arrest o Sudden Cardiac Arrest- in correspondence with CPR training o Volunteer Coaching Requirements- Concussion Training, Coaching Education, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (First Aid / CPR- highly recommended) o CIF concussion mandate / Concussions- symptoms, precautions, protocol

MaxPreps rankings (advisory decision) o Use last three seasons and rank 1 – 124; D5 no longer protected; COMPETITIVE EQUITY) . Open Division o Eight teams selected regardless of division . Divisions I, II, III, IV, V o Competitive Equity (DI, DII, DIII 24 teams each; DIV and DV 26 teams each) . Appeal Forms & Guidelines- on Section website under basketball / home (return to by Oct. 28) . Review of Playoff Dates / Playoff Sites . Coaches Passes (good except for the championships) . State Tournament Information (documents due to Sports Coordinator by Tuesday, February 28) . State Pilot Program- competitive equity (passed by CIF Federated Council) o Using criteria determined by the Section basketball advisory committee, the Section will rank 1 to 15 the State entry berths. This includes ALL 8 teams from the Open Division, champions of Divisions 1 thru 5 and two additional teams (may be a runner-up or semifinalist). We receive 13 guaranteed berths with the possibility of two at-large berths for a total of 15.
