Emax: lithium disilicate glass ceramic MPa 360 Once milled and adjusted in the mouth it must be fully sintered in vacuum oven. In it’s raw state
it’s MPa is around 160 (so hypothetically, it can be permanently placed in the mouth unfired it a patient loves the lavender color) can be traditionally cemented or bonded, indications: everywhere. Perfect for implants, grinders and second molars.
Vita: feldspar ceramic MPa 140 must be etched/silanated and resin bonded to tooth structure feldspar has a high polish finish, when polished by hand you can get an excellent ‘wet’ look . Excellent choice for anterior crowns. Not indicated for second molars or bruxers. TriLuxe polychromatic blocks available
Sirona: feldspar ceramic-these blocks are made by Vita-see above
Empress: leucite reinforced ceramic MPa 160 must be etched/silanated and resin bonded to tooth structure available in High Translucency, Low Translucency and Multiblocks (polychromatic) The skilled technician can ‘cut back’ and layer with IPS Empress Veneer porcelain to optimize
esthetics. Of all the CEREC block products on market, this product most mimics natural enamel
Paradigm C: leucite reinforced glass ceramic MPa 150 must be etched/silanated and resin bonded to tooth structure
Paradigm MZ100: composite block MPa 145 can NOT be fired or glazed must be silanated and resin bonded to an etched tooth structure
Lava: nano resin ceramic with elastic modulus comparable to dentin MPa 200 can NOT be fired or glazed must be silanated and resin bonded to a primed tooth structure. Manufacturer recommends sandblasting interior of crown and bonding with RelyX Ultimate. Available in High and Low Translucencies.
