AED 313: Early Field Experience
1) Send me a resume, a list of three placement choices, and the timeline for completing the experience.
a. You cannot go to your own high school.
b. You cannot work with your past high school teacher.
c. You cannot go where there is a currently a student teacher (during month of Sept and Winter term).
d. You cannot student teach in the same place you complete AED 313.
2) Collect a Criminal History Verification (CHV) form from the Ag Ed Office (in Strand 108), follow the instructions and submit. (NOTE: This costs $5, is good for one year, and is submitted to 104 Furman Hall.) If you need this mailed to you, please contact Melissa Almanza in the Ag Education office.
3) You may register for the course once these steps are complete. You will need an override for the Ag Science main office. You can stop by 108 Strand or call 541-737-2661. You will need the course CRN and your student ID.
4) Dr. Lambert will contact the teacher. You should wait to hear from her on a confirmed placement. When it is confirmed, you will receive an email with the list of requirements and teacher contact information. If placement is denied, we will move from your first choice to second choice (or third), if necessary, but will not go outside your list of options without contacting you again.
5) Once placement is confirmed, you will work together with the high school teacher to complete the experience.
