Raglan Community Arts Council Scholarship Policy Guidelines and Criteria ______

1 The award is to encourage and assist Year 13 students undertaking tertiary study in visual arts.

2 The scholarship may be awarded for any of the following arts, but not limited to: Design Multi-media Raranga Ceramic Art Photography Graphic arts Painting Whakairo Moving image

3 The Raglan Community Arts Council will award one Art Scholarship for the amount of $1,000.00. The scholarship can be held for one year only.

4 In awarding the scholarship the Raglan Community Arts Council will take into account the commitment of the individual, the potential benefits to the individual from the study as well as the potential benefits to the community.

5 The applicant, or if dependent the applicant’s parent/s or caregiver/s must currently reside in the designated Raglan Whaingaroa area of the Raglan Community Arts Council.

6 Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed

7 As a condition of accepting the scholarship, the recipient is required to participate in the next Raglan Festival of Arts.

 Closing date for applications Monday 7 December 2009

 Shortlisted applicants will be notified to attend an interview before December 20th 2009
