1. Q: Is the item below a Red/Orange equal?
M343 40 4oz Orange Medley Veggie Juice 1/2 c Juicy Juice veg
A: Yes.
2. Can we bid on the generic items? How do we offer manufacturer defined items? What is the process for getting a like item (from the list sent) to be tasted? I am not clear on how get this on paper for the taste testing October 13, 2017.
A: Yes. Pricing for alternate items, either Generic or Manufacturer Defined, should be given to Sysco Portland. Sysco will then fill in that information on Attachment F or Attachment I.
Supporting nutrition information and documentation of qualification for Buy American for items offered should be emailed to [email protected] on or before October 4, 2017 at 2 pm. The SRFP guidance for submitting nutrition information is:
a. Send only one product per email. Include the nutrition facts label, the ingredient statement (frequently part of the nutrition facts label) and the CN crediting information.
b. Label the files with the OCNC product number, the name of the product, the manufacturer, the product code and what that file contains. For example: M233, Pizza, 4x6, cheese and sausage, ABC manufacturer, 12345, nutrition facts label M233, Pizza, 4x6, cheese and sausage, ABC manufacturer, 12345, ingredient statement M233, Pizza, 4x6, cheese and sausage, ABC manufacturer, 12345, MPFS mma M233, Pizza, 4x6, cheese and sausage, ABC manufacturer, 12345, MPFS grain
The nutrition information will be reviewed. The decision of a product being equal is based solely on OCNC members judgment of price, ingredient list, nutrition facts information, availability, taste tests, delivery requirements, shelf life, acceptance of the manufacturer by Sysco Portland as a supplier and qualification for Buy American status. If the submitted product is determined to be equal, the proposer will receive notification on or before October 6, 2017. Some items will be taste tested. Others may not.
5. Q: Can an OCNC member choose to purchase product from another distributor?
A: Yes. The member would be fully responsible for having, and documenting, a proper procurement process. They are limited to spending 20% or less of their Food/Supply dollars for like items off the OCNC agreement with Sysco.
6. Q: There are items on the Manufacturer defined page that mirror or duplicate items that were already awarded. Can you please explain how this will work? Will the items that were awarded originally be kept on the bid?
A: The items listed on the Manufacturer defined price page all have commitments to purchase 50 cases or more from individual members. These members are saying, by signing the commitment form that in their judgment the item awarded on the OCNC PRFP is not an “equal.”

Manufacturers who have items awarded on the original PRFP who believe a product is being offered on the SRFP that is “equal” to the original one are encouraged to submit the original one as an alternate.
Manufacturers are reminded the OCNC PRFP and SRFP are requirements bids, not demand bids. The product lists include estimated purchase amounts. The estimated number of units to be purchased of each item as presented on the RFP is based on the SRFP Commitment Forms or past purchase history. The number represents "best estimates" only, and does not constitute or imply any commitment by the OCNC members as to the maximum or minimum volume of units to be purchased under this proposal.
7. Q: Would you please add a column to the price pages for a Sysco Product Allowance that will be specific for some items to that manufacturer and product code number?
A: Yes. The price pages have been reposted to the OCNC web site (ocnc.org) labeled Generic Price Quote Page #53017A Rev 9-22-17 and Manufacturer Defined Price Quote Page #53017A Rev 9-22-17.
8. Q: Are the signature pages in the Attachments only signed by Sysco Portland staff?
A: Yes.
