PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PORTFOLIO IS CLEARLY LABELED WITH YOUR FULL NAME AND YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER’S NAME.

The portfolio must include the following color renderings on 8.5” x 11” white paper.

1) One original design for a character from a book, play or movie. Include hair and make-up in your rendering.

 Attach a short essay of at least one to three paragraphs discussing your design concept and the design choices you made for this character. State the name of the character and the book, play, or movie in which the character appears. Include the setting (time and place). See sample on reverse.

 What character traits are highlighted by your costume and make-up/hair design? How did you achieve this? (Silly, wicked, hard-working, kind, beautiful…)

 Explain the style of costume and accessories. Why did you choose a certain silhouette? For example – baggy pants, full skirt, padded shoulders, baseball cap, tiara,,, What does this tell us about the character?

 Why did you choose the color/s that you did?

2) One original evening gown design – (this can be a quick sketch)

3) A sketch or rendering of a fashion ensemble from either Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter

4) A sketch or rendering of student’s choice

5) Attach a copy of your most recent progress report or report card.

(Portfolio may include photographs of costumes designed by the student and up to three (3) additional sketches and/or renderings, if desired.)

Submit portfolio to Mrs. Wright in Room 39 during nutrition or after school by Monday, March 30th.
