Attendance & Tardy Policy

Our school day begins at 8:45. If a student is eating breakfast, he/she should arrive by 8:30. Students need to be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 8:45. *** Students arriving after 8:45 must be signed-in at the office. *** When a student is absent from school, a note from the parent/guardian must be presented within 48 hours for the absence. If the absence is due to a ’family emergency’ it will remain unexcused unless an explanation is provided. *** Absences for trips that have educational value may be excused if proper procedure is followed.  Leave of educational value forms are available in the office and must be submitted in advance for the absence to be considered excused. *** When schools are operating on a two-hour delay the doors open at 10:20. Instruction begins promptly at 10:45. Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a happy start to the New Year.

Let’s begin this New Year with “Special Congrats” to all of the BHES students and family members who participated in the Humane Society Christmas 5K. We had a great showing and were the talking buzz of the race. Special “Thanks” to Brew’s Custom Displays for donating shirts and screening for the race. Quality work by good folks. Big thanks to BHES PTA for donating t- shirts for the students who participated.

Strength training in combination with throwing and kicking skills will be our focus for the next couple of months. Keep an eye out for the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. I am certain that it will be a “Hopping” good time!
