3. Technology in Action: One of my personal goals this year is to model technology that can be applied in the media setting. Today I am using GoogleDocs!
4. We will review media statistics for August at our next meeting.
5. A Note from Patti:
a. Thank you for your dedication and patience.
b. When dealing with a student that needs a replacement iPad, it is totally acceptable for the student to wait 24-48 hours to receive a loaner.
c. In the upcoming week more bandwidth will be added.
d. Caching servers will be installed at the middle schools before iPads are circulated.
e. Middle school iPads will begin being delivered to the schools this week.
f. Middle schools will not begin circulation this week. More information will be available soon about circulation dates.
g. Before circulating iPads, make sure students have their iPad Pride booklet and have seen the video. (This video is on the MS drive.)
h. Student iPad Pride booklets will be provided to your school by the Tech Office.
i. Your comments and concerns, please add them our Google Doc.
6. A Note from Jeff: Remind your teachers to run updates on their MacBooks. They need to do the OS update 10.9.4. This takes care of the black screens.
7. A Note from Melissa: Please continue saving your iPad insurance sales information to the MS drive in spreadsheet form.
8. iPad Related-How to handle a student transferring schools or moving out of the district?
a. Before leaving the original school, the student is to return the iPad to the media center. (I suggest this should become part of your clearing form.) b. If the student is transferring to a school in Liberty County, the media specialist will place a work order to have the iPad picked up by a tech specialist. (If the student has left the district, reset the iPad. Remove the student’s name from the clam case.)
c. The tech specialist will take the iPad to the new school. A new sticker, noting the school and student’s name will be applied by the media specialist.
d. The media specialist at the new school will transfer the iPad to his or her school inventory using Asset Manager’s in-hand transfer method.
e. The student will report to the media center to checkout his or her iPad.

10. Asset Manager and iPads
a. Middle School iPads are in Asset Manager
b. Elementary iPad plan- iPads from Tech Office will be imported using a report created from Report Builder. iPads from the high schools will be transferred to elementary schools. ALL ipads will need a new barcode sticker!
c. Do you want to resticker your iPads at your school?
d. Do you want to schedule a sticker party?
11. Cyber Safety- A BIG NEED
a. How can we address this need at your school? Share your thoughts on our GoogleDoc!
12. Help your school to become a Green Campus.
a. Please communicate this program to your principal and any club sponsors.
b. Your school can earn a yard sign and 4ft. banner to display during the year.
c. Who will be your school contact person? Please list their name on the MS drive by October 1st. Use the GoogleDoc!

a.i. Most Creative Recycling Book Display (worth 50 points- Submit your pictures by November 3 to the MS drive. List your school’s initials as the file name.)

a.ii. Recycling Reading Logs (worth 5 points each-) Send Jaime your completed Journals by 18th and complete the form linked below.
