This is a 2-3 month voluntary role with monthly reimbursements for travel and food expenses.
This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work with the CEDAR Network, a professional network of young, dynamic leaders of Muslim heritage from around Europe, to take forward the C100 List. The C100 will be a prestigious list of the top 100 emerging and established business leaders, primarily of Muslim heritage, who are taking the lead in tackling Europe’s current economic and social challenges through innovation and entrepreneurship. The List will highlight their inspiring ideas and success in business through public acknowledgment of their accomplishments.
The C100 List is being developed as part of the CEDAR Network’s 2012 Leadership Forum. This Forum seeks to recognise, develop and inspire entrepreneurial success among Europe’s Muslim communities and youth. It will also connect multicultural and transnational entrepreneurs across Europe and the MENA region to explore various new economic opportunities. The C100 List will be presented at the CEDAR Leadership Forum’s Gala event.
Key Responsibilities - Coordinate the C100 Working Group and support with all aspects of developing this List and identifying its 100 members. - Assist with the online nomination process through disseminating information about the C100 widely, monitoring the website, and managing submitted nominations. - Liaise with CEDAR members to identify potential nominees within their countries. - Conduct research on successful Muslim entrepreneurs and innovators in Europe and identify possible members of the List. - Organise shortlisting committee meeting, prepare all materials and participate in this meeting. - With guidance from the Working Group, assist with how information about the C100 will be formatted for external communication. - Correspond with C100 List members about their inclusion and ensure they receive an invitation to the Forum.
Requirements

Experience in website development/management, including experience with social media; Experience working with people from different backgrounds.
The candidate will possess: Excellent organisational and communication skills, Strong attention to detail, The ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment, The ability to be diplomatic and effectively communicate with a wide range of people, The ability to prioritise and work independently, as well as in a diverse team, A second European language (desirable).
The CEDAR Network The pan-European CEDAR Network, initiated in 2008, is a network of young innovative, dynamic and talented Muslim professionals in an array of professions from 16 European countries. The Network aims to bolster its members influence within wider professional, political and social networks and provides a unique platform for individual civic engagement, promoting leadership and achievement among Europe’s diverse communities.
In 2010, CEDAR awarded 10 European Muslim Women of Influence. CEDAR has demonstrated success in hosting key international events, engaging leading stakeholders from within and beyond Muslim communities to debate critical issues, and providing European leaders with fresh, independent voices on current affairs and policy debates.
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue
The CEDAR Network is facilitated by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD). Based in London, ISD is an independent policy organisation and think tank working with leaders in government, business, media and academia to develop multi-country responses to the major security and socio-economic challenges of our times and to enhance Europe's capacity to act effectively and strategically with other key players in the global arena.
Through a range of long-term policy, educational and cultural programmes, including specialised task forces, closed policy meetings with government heads, cross-border networks and scholarships, the Institute fosters leadership and stability across Europe and its wider neighbourhood, bridging communal, religious and political divides.
