SUNDAY OF THE PUBLICAN AND PHARISEE. Tone 8 Hieromartyr CLEMENT, bishop of Ancyra, and Martyr AGATHANGELOS (296). 2 Tim. 3, 10-15 Lk. 18, 10-14 2 TODAY’S BULLETIN IS SPONSORED in loving memory of +Anna Hewko by Bettyanne and Janet Woyewoda. MEMORY ETERNAL – VICHNAJA PAMJAT’! ======
Tropar of the Resurrection, Tone You descended from on high, Merciful One. You accepted the three day burial to free us from our passions. Lord, our Life and Resurrection. Glory to You.
Tropar of the church, Tone 1 In giving birth, you preserved your virginity. In falling asleep you did not forsake the world, Birth-Giver of God. You were translated to life, Mother of Life, and through your prayers you deliver our souls from death.
Tropar to the Martyr, Tone 4 You have been given to the faithful, O most sacred one, as a branch of holiness and a stem of struggle, a most sacred flower and divinely bestowed and ever-blossoming fruit. As a fellow sufferer of the martyrs and a fellow-prelate of the hierarchs, entreat Christ God, that our souls be saved.
Kondak of the Triodion, Tone 4 Let us flee from the proud boasting of the Pharisee and learn the humility of the Publican. With groaning let us cry out to the Saviour: Be merciful to us, for You alone are always ready to forgive. 3 Glory… Kondak of the church, Tone 2 Neither the tomb nor death had power over the Birth-Giver of God; she is ever watchful in her prayers and in her intercession lies unfailing hope. For as the Mother of Life she has been translated to life by the One Who dwelt within her ever-virginal womb.
Now and ever… Kondak to the Martyr, Tone 4 You were a precious scion of Christ the branch, O much- suffering and most lauded Clement, and you cried out with those who suffered: “You are the radiant joy of the martyrs, O Christ”!
Prokimen of the Resurrection, Tone 8 Pray and give glory to the Lord our God. Verse: In Judah God is known; His Name is great in Israel.
Alleluia Verses of the Resurrection, Tone 8 Come let us rejoice in the Lord. Let us shout with jubilation to God our Saviour. Let us come before His Face with thanksgiving; with psalms let us shout with jubilation to Him.
Communion Hymns Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia (3X).
