PARKER UPON THE 12 OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE STATE 13 ACCIDENT FUND AFTER TWENTY-NINE YEARS OF 14 DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE STATE AND TO WISH HIM 15 MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE 16 ENDEAVORS. 17 18 Whereas, Irvin D. “Pete” Parker is retiring from the State Accident 19 Fund on June 30, 2004; and 20 21 Whereas, Mr. Parker has been the Director of the State Accident 22 Fund since September 2, 1986; and 23 24 Whereas, as Director, Mr. Parker has been instrumental in the 25 Agency adopting Deming’s Principles of Total Quality 26 Management; and 27 28 Whereas, prior to his employment with the State Accident Fund, 29 Mr. Parker worked at the Attorney General’s Office as Assistant 30 Attorney General from 1967 to 1972; and 31 32 Whereas, in 1974, Mr. Parker became the first Director of the 33 Department of Consumer Affairs until 1981; and 34 35 Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to 36 honor Irvin D. Parker for his outstanding service to the citizens of 37 South Carolina during the past twenty-nine years. Now, therefore, 38 39 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives 40 concurring: 41

1 [1197] 1 1 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 2 Carolina, by this resolution, extend their appreciation to Irvin D. 3 Parker on the occasion of his retirement as Director of the State 4 Accident Fund, for his many years of service to this State, and 5 wish him much success and happiness in his future endeavors. 6 7 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 8 Irvin D.
