Gold Coast to host Corroboree Asia 2018 The Gold Coast has been confirmed as the host city for Corroboree Asia 2018, adding to the stellar line-up of major events will host this year. The biennial trade event brings together more than 100 Australian tourism operators to meet with about 300 qualified Aussie Specialist agents from priority Asian markets, including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, India, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Hosted by Tourism in partnership with Gold Coast Tourism and TEQ, the event will take place from 26 to 31 August 2018 and will be followed by five-day familiarisation trips around the country, including Queensland.

Dundee marketing activity continues With the success of Tourism Australia’s celebrity- studded Dundee tourism advert still being felt, it’s an ideal time to be in the US market promoting Queensland with a range of partners.

Almost 50 per cent of all supplier attendees at last week’s Australia Marketplace trade event in Los Angeles were Queensland tourism products while a smaller but no less passionate crew of 14 Queensland tourism products are now embarking on TEQ’s ‘Queensland on Tour North Americas’ travelling to Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, San Antonio and Seattle promoting Queensland.

This trade activity will support upcoming Queensland-specific campaigns from March to June 2018 in partnership with Qantas, Air Canada and Expedia; as well as Tourism Australia’s continued campaign to convert heightened interest into actual travel bookings, using a dedicated ‘marketplace’ featuring airfare and tailored holiday offers.
