As you are aware, we have been conducting a series of clinical trials comparing your ActCel product against several of the other hemostatic agents that are currently available including HemCon, Celox, and Quikclot. While all of the products have successfully performed as expected, it has been noted that the ActCel product has been the “stand-out” performer. There are several reasons the ActCel dressing has earned this title. First and foremost, of all of the hemostatic dressings that were tested, the ActCel dressing is the only one that is delivered with a 5-year shelf life. The most that the other manufacturers would provide is a 3-year shelf life. The next reason is the pricing; the ActCel dressing provides a better effect for a lower cost. The third reason has been the positive reaction we have received from the Emergency Room Physicians in regards to the use of the ActCel dressings. They are familiar with the type of dressings, since they have used similar type of formulas in the operating theaters. The ActCel dressing have shown no deterioration from the severe heat and humidity that we have to endure in this part of South Texas. On the occasions the ActCel dressings have been used our paramedics have been impressed with the speed and effectiveness of the dressing in controlling severe hemorrhaging up to and including a major femoral bleed. Although we have rotated the different products in order to get a well rounded evaluation of the different products, whenever asked which product they prefer, the paramedics name the ActCel dressing as their choice. Although we still have another 7 weeks left on the clinical trials, but I wanted to take the time to personally let you know how pleased we are with your product. I truly believe that you have developed one of those few products that will have a huge impact on the success of EMS in controlling serious hemorrhages. Respectfully,
