Dr Shaya Y Al-Raqa. Department Chairman and assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Al-Raqa received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK) in 2002. His current research interests include synthesis, characterization and applications of phthalocyanines and porphyrins derivatives.

Prof. Dr Hesham A. Medien is a professor of Physical Chemistry. Prof. Medien received his PhD in Physical Chemistry from Ain Shams University (Egypt, Cairo) in 1991. His current research interests include chemical kinetics and development of novel methods for studying degradation and adsorption of various organic pollutants in water.

Prof. Dr. Magdy A. M. Ibrahim is a professor of Physical Chemistry. Prof. Ibrahim received his PhD in Physical Chemistry from Ain Shams University in 1994. His current research interests include electrochemistry, electro- deposition of metals and alloys, and metals corrosion.

Prof. Dr. Tarek H. Afifi Mahmoud is a Professor of Applied Organic Chemistry. Prof. Afifi received his PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from Al-Azhar University (Cairo, Egypt) in 1991. His current research interests include azo dye synthesis and application, organometallic macromolecules functionalized with azo chromophore moieties, and most recently dyed-doped nanoparticles: functionlization and bioconjugation.

1 Dr. Fethi Kooli is an associate professor of Physical Chemistry. Dr. Kooli received his PhD in Physical Chemistry from University of Orleans (France) in 1989. His current research interests include intercalation chemistry, chemistry of materials, and their applications in catalysis and environment.

Dr. Afaf A.H. Zahran is an associate professor of Physical Chemistry. Dr. Zahran received her PhD in Physical Chemistry from Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt) in 1990. Her current research interests include studying the effect of adding polymer on surface characterization of some compounds such as silica and alumina.

Dr. Amjad Shraim is an associate professor of Analytical Chemistry. Dr. Shraim received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from University of Queensland (Australia) in 2000. His research interests include monitoring of chemical pollutants in the environment and their health effects, and separation science.

Dr. Omima S. Mohamed is an associate professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Mohamed received her PhD in Organic Chemistry from Saarland University (Germany) in 1991. Her current research interests include photochemistry (photocatalytic oxidation, photogeneration of carbenes, photopolymerization), thermal and heterocyclic chemistry.

Dr. Noorhan Chelebi is an associate professor of Biochemistry. Dr. Chelebi received her PhD in Biochemistry from Liverpool University (Liverpool, UK) in 1998. Her current research interests include synthesis of novel peptide ligands for nanoparticle stabilization, peptides synthesis, and purification of bioactive protein.

Dr. Musa Said is an associate professor of Inorganic Chemistry. Dr. Said is Alexander von Humboldt fellow since 1997. He received his PhD from The Central University of Hyderabad in 1996. His current research interests include synthesis and characterization of new multi-metal catalysts with one active center directed towards polymerization.

2 Dr. Saleh A. Ahmed is an associate professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Ahmed received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Saarland University (Germany) in 1994. His current research interests include synthesis and photophysical properties of novel photochromic materials-based gels, electronic devices and solar energy conversion.

Dr. Leila Chaker is an assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Chaker received her PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Claude Bernard (France) in 1995. Her current research interests include design and development of methodologies applicable to the synthesis of novel fullerene derivatives.

Dr. Mouslim Messali is an assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Messali received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from university of Liege (Belgium) in 2001. His current research interests include heterocyclic chemistry, ionic liquids synthesis (Green Chemistry), and synthesis of organic compounds for host-guest chemistry.

Dr. Mohammad Yamin Siddiqui is an assistant professor of Chemistry. Dr. Siddiqui received his PhD in Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University (Aligarh, India) in 1989. His current research interests include synthesis, characterization and applications of Nano-porous metal-organic framework (MOF) materials.

Dr. Sami ben Aoun is an assistant professor of Analytical Chemistry. Dr. Aoun received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Kumamoto University (Japan) in 2005. His recent research interests include electroanalytical chemistry that deals with nano- ordered catalytic electrodes with special focus on fuel cells applications.

3 Dr. Abdulilah Dawoud Bani-Yaseen is an assistant professor of Biochemistry/ Physical Chemistry. Dr Bani-Yaseen received his PhD from Iowa State University (Ames, USA) in 2006. His current research interests include, nanotechnology and fabrication of novel microfluidic and sensing systems for biomarkers discovery and screening.

Dr. Amal I. M. Abdel-Mageed is an assistant professor of Analytical Chemistry. Dr. Abdel-Majeed received her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from University of Huddersfield (United Kingdom) in 2002. Her current research interests include mechanisms and chemiluminescence of phenolic compounds reactions.

Dr Rawda M. Okasha is an assistant professor of Inorganic Chemistry. Dr. Okasha received her PhD in Organometallic Polymer Chemistry from University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, Canada) in 2008. Her main research interests include design of polymeric materials, supramolecular chemistry, organometallics and metal nanoparticles.

Dr. Ali Falah Al-Ghamedi is an assistant professor of analytical chemistry. Dr. Al-Ghamedi received his PhD in analytical chemistry from King Saud University (Riyadh, KSA) in 2008. His current research interests include electroanalysis and stripping voltammetric and differential pulse polarographic determination of drugs.

Dr. Ziad Moussa is an assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Moussa received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Calgary (Canada) in 2003. His main research interests include synthetic chemistry that deals with synthesis and characterization of new organic compounds.

Dr. Awadh Al-Suhaimi is an assistant professor of Analytical Chemistry. Dr. Al-Suhaimi received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Hull (UK) in 2006. His current research interests include environmental analysis, separation sciences, fabrication of microfluidic devices and porous monolithic materials as separation media.

4 Dr. Bader Ghanem is an assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Ghanem received his PhD from Manchester University (UK) in 2005. His research interests include Synthesis and characterization of a wide range of novel microporous organic materials for heterogeneous catalysis, gas-liquid separation and hydrogen storage.

Dr. Rawdhah Q.A. Lamphon is an assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. Lamphon received her PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Leicester (England) in 2002. Her current research interests include synthesis and spectral identification of organic compounds with anti-microbial activities.

Dr. Mohammed Emad Esam is an assistant professor of Analytical Chemistry. Dr. Esam received his PhD from Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt) in 1999. His current research interests include industrial water treatment, development of new class of corrosion inhibitors for cooling water systems, water analysis using ICP, A.A.

Dr. Ahmad El-Douhaibi is an assistant professor of Organic Chemistry. Dr. El-Douhaibi received his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Wayne State University (USA) in 2006. His current research interests include developing methodologies for the synthesis of simple organic molecules that could be used as building blocks for synthesis of natural products.

Dr. Shadia Mahmoud Sirry is an assistant professor of analytical chemistry. Dr Shadia received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from South Valley University(Aswan,Egypt) in 1998. His current research interests include separation of metals by solvent extraction and solid extraction and water remediation
