You are hereby invited to attend a meeting of the Commons Committee to be held at South Lodge on Monday 5th September 2016 at 7.00 p.m. for the purpose of transacting the following business. Sue Moffat 25th August 2016 Sue Moffat Clerk to the Council
Would Councillors please give any declarations of interest at the beginning of the item on the Agenda.
1. To receive apologies for absence. 2. To review all actions from the minutes of the meeting held on the 4th July 2016. Tescos Bags of Help application – Footpath project has been successful and put forward to a public vote in Tesco stores with customers deciding the outcome. 3. To receive Health and Safety reports and Updates as follows:- Cllr Jennifer Woolveridge to report on East Common Recommendations from Pyramid Consulting Ltd - To consider hiring a contractor at a cost of £2,300 for a week’s worth of stump grinding with a 75hp stumpgrinder. Pyramid Consulting Ltd considers that this work would cover most if not all the areas that have previously been mulched. Bill Collins agrees to this work. If minded to approve, the Clerk would recommend to meet the contractor on site to confirm this work can be completed before placing the order. To consider replacing the litter bin next to the bus shelter with a larger one. To consider re-seeding and ground repairs on East and West Common e.g. Playground area and under various tables/benches. Cllr Ian Bayliss to report on West Common 2 x bollards to protect dropped kerb at bus turning circle. To agree the type of bollard. Antisocial behaviour, BBQ’s/fires on the Common. – What action should be taken? Cllr. Martin Baker to report on the Play Equipment. Cllr. Peter Grimes to report on The Camp. Bulstrode Camp Ltd have reported severe flooding at the bottom of Camp Road due to the overflow from Crab Hill pond. At the last meeting it was agreed to dig out pond and increase banking to contain the overflow to assist with reducing the flooding in the area. This may need to be reviewed to ensure this is the correct action. 4. To consider the state of the bunds on West Common and action to be taken as a matter of urgency. A quote has been received to cut back vegetation, reduce bunds to 0.8m, remove waste and reseed for £6850. 5. To agree to allow the Fun Fair to use West Common in September. 6. To review outstanding projects: as appended. 7. To put forward any projects to be included in the precept for 2017/18 for approval. West Common - Proposal received to gradually replace bunds with concrete posts. 8. Common’s Budget – as appended. 9. To consider the capacity and frequency of emptying of litter and dog bins. 10. Report on the latest meeting of the Gerrards Cross Conservation Volunteers. 11. Review Footpaths. 12. Agree Facebook topics. 13. To note general information received in the correspondence at the Council Office. Emails and correspondence about the state of the bunds on West Common. 14. To confirm that the next meeting of the Commons Committee will be held on Monday 3rd October 2016, 7.00pm at South Lodge.
