Poolside with President Charlie Vanderslice:

Hello RTW family!

Welcome! All of us at Rose Tree Woods Swim Club are excited to see all of our summer family once again and we want to extend a warm RTW welcome to all of our new family members joining us this year. I hope you are excited as we are.

It has been a busy offseason for us and we remain committed to maintaining and improving our club. We completed a few “behind the scenes” projects inside our Pump house and the main building but also some that are around the club. Overall, your pools & grounds held up very well during the winter months and we’ve walked through often during the offseason to make sure all was ok and we addressed anything that needed attention. With that, RTW is ready for you to enjoy another great summer!

There are a few exciting updates I especially want to share with you. To begin, let me introduce you to the MainLine Culinary Academy who will be operating the RTW Grille!

Page 1 of 10 Important RTW News

Page 2 of 10 We are excited to have them with us and of their plans in providing a big menu complete with weekly and nightly specials. Along with catering experience for the Eagles and Phillies, they bring ~30 years culinary experience to our Club. Please join me in welcoming them to RTW!

Our second exciting update is RTW’s new Head Dive Coach so let me be the first to introduce you to Kayla Murray! Kayla grew up diving and competing in Delco league and then moved on to various Dive Coaching roles. She is now the Head Dive Coach at Marple Newtown High School where some of our RTW divers compete during the winter. We are exciting to welcome Kayla.

We will be posting our Socials calendar on the blue Socials board, Facebook page, and the RTW website with upcoming events for Adult and Youth Socials, Membership Appreciation Day events, and all our other Special events. We strive to fill the summer season with as much fun and excitement as we can possibly can. I invite you to view our Socials calendar for more information as the season draws near and please “like us” on Facebook and visit our Facebook page, where you will be able to view new events, special events, and other announcements as they are posted. If you have an idea for a Social event just let us know, we are always open for new ideas and events to host.

Our Swim & Dive teams are also preparing for another competitive and fun filled season under our Head Coaches and all of their assistant coaches. Let me be the first to say let’s Go RTW!!! As we noted in previous years, there are many sports available to our children these days but there is no other team sport, as there is with Swimming and Diving, composed of children in such a broad range in age, 5 to 18 year olds, boys and girls, competing together, cheering each other on (loudly!), learning valuable life-saving skills, having fun, making new friends and long lasting memories. I invite you to encourage your children, whether experienced or novice, to join the team or mini team (pre-team). It truly is a wonderful experience that begins with the first practice and ends with an awesome banquet!

Congratulations go out to Danielle Kardasis and her family whose lucky ticket was drawn on Labor Day as the winner of the 2017 Free Dues raffle. Danielle and her family will be enjoying the 2017 season completely dues free! Our raffle is back again this year where YOU can win 100% free membership dues for the 2018 season with your lucky ticket….that’s not a typo...WIN 100% FREE DUES for the 2018 season! Tickets will be available again throughout the season at the front office and around the club during special events with the winning ticket selected on September 4, 2017 by a random RTW Family member. You do not need to be present to win…do you want to receive that phone call? Good luck to all!

Finally, on a personal note, I am excited for another great summer at RTW and looking forward in seeing all of our summer friends once again as we enjoy our time in the sun. I look forward to seeing you at the pool. Welcome to the 2017 season! Go RTW!!

Marilyn and her team will be leading our Snack Bar through the summer of 2017! Marilyn’s goal is to provide an awesome menu in a clean and organized kitchen delivered by her friendly staff.
