Fiona Saxby: Carla as a participant you won't get the opportunity to speak. ronnie maclean: Ronnie can hear you.(I senta message to "host") sorry if a duplication. Fiona Saxby: You can try the audio setup wizard to see if it's your computer that is the problem. Just click "Meeting" at the top of the screen and then "Audio setup wizard" Carla Brown: ok thanks.I'm working on it... David McCririck: YES ronnie maclean: Ronnie - still can hear Fiona Saxby: welcome amy Fiona Saxby: Can everyone hear amy houston: hello, i can hear! Carla Brown: Sorry, I still can't hear.It seems to be a problem with my computer. Fiona Saxby: Is the audio on the computer muted? David McCririck: Harris, Western Isles David McCririck: Hi! amy houston: Orkney ronnie maclean: in Brae Mainland shetland for first i day a week redeploymentusually in Mid Yell , island of yell shetland. Fiona Saxby: Carla and Liz are you hearing okay? We are recording the session so you can have another opportunity to view liz.mcmillan: Sorry, we can't hear Carla Brown: Sorry, I still can't hear either. liz.mcmillan: Trying to sort our sound out liz.mcmillan: Sound on the computer is working but not on the broadcast Fiona Saxby: Liz try closing the window and opening again. That may force the sound to start working ronnie maclean: ronnie yres amy houston: yes, still here liz.mcmillan: Yes, we were just going to try that Fiona Saxby: ok fingers crossed! liz.mcmillan: Success Carla Brown: me too! thanks Fiona Saxby: Yay! Kelly Milford: Just in time. Thanks Fiona and welcome Liz and Carla! Fiona Saxby: well done everyone! Kelly Milford: Gordon may not be able to answer all questions today, but Michelle and I will get back to co-ordinators with answers in the next couple of weeks. Kelly Milford: No questions for Gordon? ronnie maclean: I think maybe some of usare still coming to terms with the June updates which I know for N3 chemistry are significant, but I haven't looked at any of the biology pacjkages yet. ( A commentr rather than a question) liz.mcmillan: At the nominees meeting (June 17th) it was stated that they would NOT expect most schools to be using the published assignment resource packs. Is this true? Kelly Milford: Thanks Ronnie, please feel free to ask questions about any aspect of the new Biology courses. liz.mcmillan: Thank you ronnie maclean: Maybe you could clarify again the degree of support proper within the formal assignment. David McCririck: I have just completed an investigation on osmosis with my class. To qualify as evidence for the assignment, would the practical applications of osmosis need to be added to their write-ups? David McCririck: Nat 5 David McCririck: OK thanks Carla Brown: You said that outcome 1 must be met for one unit only.Does it matter which unit?E.g. during verification of Int courses, Unit 1 is targeted (Chemistry) Carla Brown: ok thanks Kelly Milford: You will be selected for verification ofa course, you will then select the Unit to send for verification. This approach to verification will allow us to look holistically across the course each year. ronnie maclean: OK - how about a slight moan that maybe doesnt't require an answer. There seems an awful lot of key areas in biology compared to the other sciences suggesting there is still adegree of content overload??In addition the N3 assessments seem tricky for "foundation" pupils??Am I wrong?? ronnie maclean: Thanks for answering. Kelly Milford: We will come back to biology questions if we have any time left at the end.For now, we'll go to Michelle for aquickgeneral update. ronnie maclean: |Agree button not working Ronnie Fiona Saxby: The agrees/disagree buttons are under th arrow next to the waving man at the top of the screen amy houston: on an ipad, doesnt seem to work for voting! Kelly Milford: Thanks for letting us know Amy.Can you type agree/disagree in the chat box for the next question? You too Ronnie. amy houston: agree ronnie maclean: yes ronnie Michelle Sharpe: We will be here until 5-15 if you have further questions. Fiona Saxby: They've all gone Kelly Milford: Hi Fiona, can we have a quick chat with you?
