Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Master of Arts/Certificate: Denver Public Schools Partner Programs

DPS Ritchie Program for School Leaders & Executive Leadership for Successful Schools

The Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Program at the Morgridge College of Education offers two cohort pathways to principal certification in partnership with Denver Public Schools. The Ritchie Program for School Leaders (Ritchie) and the Executive Leadership for Successful Schools (ELSS) cohorts are customized to district and school needs and the DPS School Leadership Framework.

Ritchie Program for School Leaders (Ritchie-Denver):  32 credit hour district partnership model with 30 weekly in-person sessions during the academic year and 6 full day sessions (including a 3 day retreat) over the summer quarter  DPS offers a paid full-time internship  Project-based learning experiences and internship opportunities that are integrated with coursework and supported by a mentor principal

Executive Leadership for Successful Schools (ELSS-Denver):  30 credit hour blended online delivery model with 2-3 Saturday sessions per quarter (10 days per year) and weekly online interactions within a cohort  Project-based learning experiences and internship opportunities that are integrated with coursework and supported by a mentor principal

 $65 Application Fee . The application fee may be paid with a credit card only at time of submission. You cannot pay the fee online once you have submitted your application. The application fee may also be paid on a bank draft or personal check drawn on a U.S. bank.*

However, applicants to the DPS Partner Programs are considered for all cohorts and will be admitted to the cohort that the faculty deem the best fit.

If you have previously attended DU, please make sure to note this when filling out your online application so that the Office of Graduate Admissions knows to request your transcripts from the Registrar.

International applicants, or applicants who do not hold a degree from an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, must take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam in addition to the GRE or MAT. REFERENCES  Each applicant will be asked to provide the names and email addresses of two (2) recommenders upon submitting their online application. The recommenders will receive the fillable PDF nomination form to complete and submit to [email protected] by the application deadline.  One (1) letter must be written by a direct Supervisor, Principal, or Superintendent. Both letters should speak to your leadership skills.

The personal essay will be evaluated process using the following criteria:  Ability to clearly articulate your values and beliefs about leadership  Ability to clearly articulate the skills that will allow you to lead and positively impact student achievement CURRENT RESUME/ VITA
