9th Annual Student Leadership Summit

As we prepare for the 9th Annual Student Leadership Summit, we wanted to make sure you had the most up-to-date information about the day’s events. Below are some key pieces of information that will prove useful as your prepare to join us on Friday, October 27th @ 9am.

 Check-in: Check-in on Friday morning will be from 8:20-9am upstairs on the 3rd floor in front of the Student Union Ballrooms, Building 58W/Rm 3703. Please arrive with enough time to grab a little breakfast prepared by Chartwells, and find a seat. Also, remember to use this time to network. It could be a game changer! Make sure to complete the sign-in sheet at your table.

 Summit Opening: The Summit will begin promptly at 9am. Dr. Sandra Upton’s presentation will begin roughly at 9:30am. We strongly suggest that you arrive by this point and plan to stay for the entire event. However, if you are unable to stay for the entire day please do not let our suggestion deter you from attending. We want you to come no matter how long you are able to stay. We truly believe you will leave the Summit with information that will have a tremendous impact on your evolution as a leader.

 Summit Program: The summit’s theme, “Leading Beyond Boundaries: How Cultural Intelligence Creates Global Leaders,” will emphasize the importance of learning and practicing cultural intelligence to successfully live, work, communicate and lead across boundaries in our ever globalizing world.

 Parking: If you have a UNF parking pass then please park in the area your pass allows. Our suggestion is that you park in the Arena Parking Garage (Building 38). If you do not have a UNF parking pass, you can purchase a virtual pass using UNF’s new Pay-by-Plate system. More information on visitor parking can be found here.

 Attire: When attending the Summit we suggest that you dress in “business casual” attire that you will be comfortable engaging in activities and discussions. As long as you are comfortable with networking in your choice of attire, then wear it. 9th Annual Student Leadership Summit

 Name Badges: If you have a name badge from your work, an organization you are involved with, etc. please wear it.

 Remember to Bring: Please remember to bring paper and pen to take notes. This day will be packed with valuable information for you to refer back to as you grow into the leader you are destined to be.

 Reception: Immediately following the Summit please join us for a catered reception by our community friends, Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q. We hope that you take this time to network with other attendees, community leaders, the keynote speaker, and the Taylor Leadership Institute’s faculty and staff. Use this time to make connections, you never know when a connection may lead to an internship or career opportunity.
