19th January 2012 Dear Parents,
Trip to Mill Bank Farm – 1 st February 2012
As our trip is fast approaching I thought I would send out a letter just to highlight what we will be doing and what the children need to bring with them for the visit. Mill Bank Farm is an organic cattle farm. During the morning we will be having a tour of the farm and a discussion about organic farming and eating healthily. After lunch we will be going to marsh land to go pond dipping where we will talk about biodiversity and food chains. Due to the nature of this trip, the children do not need to be in school uniform. As we will be outside for periods of the day, all children need to ensure they wear warm, waterproof clothes. I would recommend they come dressed as if they were going to Forest School. I strongly recommend wearing waterproof trousers as we will be outside whatever the weather. The children will all need to wear Wellington boots (please note ankle size wellies will be too short) to ensure they don’t get wet feet. Please note children should wear/bring extra socks to ensure their feet don’t get cold. They will also need to bring a drink and snack for when we get there as well as a suitable packed lunch (no glass bottles or fizzy drinks please). The children are permitted to bring a named bag to keep all their belongings in. We will be leaving as close to 9:00 am as possible and should be arriving back at school for the end of day pick up at 3:20 pm. There are still some outstanding permission slips for this visit. Please can these be returned to school by Wednesday 25th January at the absolute latest. Thank you for your support.
Kind regards,
Miss Waters
