VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We would like to use our new fellowship hall when we host the Art Fair/Spelling Bee. But we need your help! On Saturday, February 28, we are looking for school family volunteers to help ‘spruce up’ our new facility. We will be dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, doors, touching up paint, etc. If you are able to help us with this, show up this Saturday morning. Work will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until it is finished. Please bring window cleaner, paper towels, and a vacuum if you are able. Buckets and rags will be supplied.

AND… We are asking each family (if they are able and willing) to donate either a pan of bars or a dozen ‘home-made’ cookies to serve at the Art Fair/Spelling Bee on Monday evening. If you would be able to help with clean-up afterwards, please contact Miss Heldt. And – THANK YOU!!!!!

FORMS DUE We are doing things a bit different this year. On Tuesday, registration forms were mailed home. This will enable the teachers to order materials for next school year. Please return the forms to the school office by Tuesday, March 3. If your student will be in Preschool or Kindergarten, we ask that you please come to the office to register them.

FULL DAY OF SCHOOL The Waupaca Public Schools will have ½ day of school on Wednesday, March 11. Immanuel will have a FULL day of school. There will not be buses to bring students home in the afternoon. Parents are asked to please make arrangements before school begins that day. THANK YOU! LIGHTS! CAMERA! BOOK FAIR! That's right! It's once again time for our annual Scholastic Book Fair. This year's fair will run from February 22 through March 1 and is a wonderful opportunity to extend your child's education into your home by stocking up on good books. In addition you have the opportunity to buy books for your child's classroom for their enjoyment and for the enjoyment of many classes to come.

TIGER TALES ATTACHMENTS The March school events calendar and March hot lunch menu are attached to this TIGER TALES.

YEARBOOK PICTURES PLEASE! A great job was done with the yearbook last year, and we’d like this year’s to be as nice. If you have pictures from school events (soccer games, basketball games, field trips, room parties, etc.) please put them on a disc and bring them to the school office. Include your name so we can return the disc to you! THANK YOU! The Yearbook Committee

THIS and THAT SAVE FOR SCHOOL We are again participating in the Campbell’s “Labels for Education” program which allows us to ‘bank’ labels and then cash them in on items for school. The company no longer wants the front labels, they are now asking for the UPC symbols found on the labels. We are also participating in the “Box Tops for Education” program sponsored by General Mills. The company pays us for box tops that are sent in. You may bring your labels or box tops to the school office and we will gladly take care of them for you.

VEHICLE INSPECTIONS Now is a good time for a reminder about our driving policy. According to Board of Education policy, (Student Handbook pg. 13) “Drivers who have submitted proof of insurance, driving record, and certification that their auto has been checked by a mechanic may transport students to sports events, field trips or other school events. These records are kept on file in the school office during the current school year. At the end of the school year, all records are destroyed. New forms were included in the folders given to each family at the teachers’ home visits. If you need another form, please stop in the school office.

SICK CHILDREN Out of concern for the welfare of all, sick children should not be sent to school. Children who have vomited in the morning should not be sent to school. A child with a fever should stay home until 24 hours after the temperature has returned to normal

COLD WEATHER DRESSING Now that the weather has cooled down, please send warm clothing for your student to wear at recess time. If they do not have the proper clothing, they will not be allowed to go out for recess with the rest of their class. Students, please remember to either take your items home or pick them up at the end of the day. If they are left on the hallway floor, check the “Lost and Found” box in the school office. That’s where the janitor puts the items she finds!

CORRECT INFORMATION, PLEASE! If you have moved, changed jobs, or phone numbers, please update your Emergency Contact information in the school office so that in an emergence we can reach you.

SENDING MEDICINE TO SCHOOL Prescribed medicine will be dispensed by the classroom teacher according to the prescription and must be accompanied by written permission from a parent. It must be kept in the prescription container. State law requires this policy. Students should not carry medicine. Children who bring non-prescription medicine must give it to the teacher along with a note from the parents indicating their wishes. Under no circumstances should children take any medicine without the teacher’s supervision.
