Location UBC Robson Square is in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Details on “How to get there” are provided on the UBC website www.robsonsquare.ubc.ca Included at that website is the map that is shown below; Robson Square is the northern area of the block encompassed by Robson, Hornby, Howe, and Smithe. This area is a courtyard below street level, and the UBC campus is on the western side of the courtyard.

On that map, the Vancouver Art Gallery is shown on the north side of Robson Street; UBC Robson square is immediately opposite, on the south side of Robson street. Transportation A highly recommended site, which also gives information about accommodation, is www.tourismvancouver.com Vancouver International Airport is south of the city, and a taxi from the airport to downtown requires 30 to 40 minutes and costs $25 to $30 CAD. The hotels do not have shuttle services, but the Airporter Bus Line has stops at all of the major hotels; on arrival at Vancouver airport, go the International Arrivals, Level 2. The Airporter buses depart at 20-minute intervals. The cost is $12 one way, and $18 for a return trip. Tickets are purchased from the driver. Make sure you have Canadian dollars. Accommodation The conference hotel for the GAC-MAC-SEG meeting on the 26-28 May is the Sheraton Wall Centre, at which the conference rate will apply for the weekend preceding the conference. Numerous other hotels are available, some of which are listed below, with the AAA ratings and daily rates as given by www.tourismvancouver.com. Course attendees should arrange for accommodation by contacting directly the hotel of choice. Short descriptive data for specific hotels are given at Tourism Vancouver’s web site.
