Dialogic Big Book: Everybody Works Song/Poem: “Pretty Package” Language Arts Nursery Rhyme: “Slippery Sam” Learn to Write: Introduce letter patterns, review identifying all capital and lowercase letters of the alphabet, identifying letter sounds, practicing writing letters and simple words, practicing writing complete sentences with Fry words Word Study: -it, -ig, and -in (review rhyming words) Review all Fry words-see back of newsletter for all 100 words. Interactive Read Aloud: Forest Bright Forest Night and various Dr. Seuss books for Read Across America Week Review addition-adding objects together to find how many in all Math Review counting and writing to 100 by 1’s and by 10’s Review counting objects in different arrangements and writing numbers 0-20 to match the number of objects in a group/set Review 2-dimensional and 3-dimenstional shapes: rectangles, squares, circles, hexagons, triangles, cone, cylinder, cube, sphere I can describe the work that people do in the community. I can explain why people Science/Social Studies have to work. I can explain that people must make choices because we cannot have everything we want. Important *Celebrating Dr. Seuss All Week-Monday-Wear your silliest or mismatched socks, Information Tuesday-Dress in Green, Wednesday- Wacky/Crazy Hair Day, Thursday-Wear your favorite hat to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Friday-Dress in Red *Book Fair is scheduled to open Monday, February 27th through March 9th-see flyers for information and if send money send enough for tax too! *Class/Group picture day is Thursday, March 9th. *Read to your child every night for at least 15 minutes! *Review Fry words and letter patterns!
